SINGAPORE - A mini-bus driver was jailed for nine months and banned from driving for eight years on Thursday for causing the deaths of two pedestrians.
Yahya Abdul Kader, 47, admitted to causing the deaths of Ms Etty Marlina Syaiful, 28, a civil servant, and Ms Eka Prativi, 22, a student, along Stevens Road at 10.18am on Nov 12, 2011.
The two Indonesian women were visiting Singapore with their family at the time.
A district court heard that the two were walking at the back of their group when they stopped at the entrance of the Social Development Unit along Stevens Road to take photographs.
