LD50 of table salt (sodium chloride) is 12.357 g salt per kg mass, i.e. a healthy man weighing in 65 kg would need slightly over 803 g of salt and have 50% chance to go up the lorry. Who the fuck eats close to a kilogram of salt at one go? we're not making salted fish here you know?

my friend took a flight from Singapore to NZ economy class. SQ offers water. He don't want.He wants beer and wine. Drink the whole trip.never get up at all. drink and drink and then snooze away in his little corner seat. on arrival, he walks a short distance to his hotel.he collapses. luckily NZ great hospital and doctors saved him. he suffered DVT and his lungs got blocked. he very lucky to live. thanks to NZ,

he swears never to drink beer or wine on board. simple plain water will do. thank you.

Salt is not that bad for human body. Sometimes when you are very sick with cold or throat inflammation and uclers, just take cold coke with some added salt. Even my old friends in US who fought the Viet war told me that they take coke when they feel sick in the fields.

As for most things in life, drink beer (and water also) in moderation.

ok ok . 50% beer and 50% water (chaser for the beer)

Salt is an excellent candidate when you have ulcers in the mouth. Wet your finger and dap it into a pile of salt and press it on the ulcer. Recovery within a couple of days instead of those long drawn curses when you eat and/or drink.

Gurgling with salt water clears the inflammation in the throat.

And the best part- in the above illustrations, I don't reckon more than 5 g of salt is absorbed into the human body.

Another reason why the ST group is doing badly-dishing out garbage that 3L of water a day is over hydration.
In fact 3L a day should be the minimum in a hot weather like sillipore-unless you stay in aircond the whole day and is very sedentary.
Name me one doctor who says 3 L of water a day is over hydration in sillipore for a normal adult !

The writer -is she a health professional or did she get her masters or postgrad from the famous University of South pacific ?

Depends very much on how much water you lose. If you perspire a lot due to weather or exercise, it makes sense to drink more.

Most of us guys who have done NS would be familiar with water parades. A full litre into the stomach and you feel bloated already. The second litre down and you'll feel like puking it out.
Would you go for a third litre within that short period of time?

Talking about and showing the drinking of water is now such a fashion statement. You see people holding on to water tumblers, containers, jogging with them etc. Go to expensive restaurants and having great meals with water etc.

Ordering coke with your meal in a pricey restaurant is frowned upon but not water with a slice on lemon in it.

Of course the restaurants love it as their margins are huge. Its now common place to place a bottle of still and fizzy water on the table.

What people do not realise is that you body will actually tell you when water is needed to rehydrate. The urine colour is another indication.

Bro,
We could erase the word "thirst" from all dictionaries in the near future if apps are written to tell you when to drink, the optimal pH and volume to boot.
