We have more interesting views from the ground.
This is their story ---
For 10 to 20 years , PAP has been using township upgrading to hoodwink voters to vote for PAP .
This method worked good time for PAP while they import millions of foreigners without thinking of infrastructures.
Until WP voiced out the problems of sinkaporeans are facing and PE went under the hammer, PAP starts to wake up a bit and realize sinkapore has a big problem housing the 5-3 million.
Visibly, public transport like MRT is overcrowded, shopping belts and HDB town centers are too congested with cars, etc.
For PAP, the solution is to cause COE to rise and up the ERP fees, but the root problem cannot be solved by just doing the simple things. There are more to be done.
Look at all the HDB town centres, they are poorly planned, roads’ capacity is never sufficient.
In other words, the HDB carpark at town center has 100 car park space, 20 years later, with 30% of population growth, the car park space remains the same . So who is at fault ?
By hurting pockets to contain problems only cause problems to be compounded, and only the rich can afford to do things they like !
PAP has failed sinkapore big time.
Only recently when they failed to win PE, then they realize they must listen oredi !
So PAP in the panicky mode, rashly come out a 2030 to do damage control .
So what does this 2030 means ? Sinkaporeans are facing bad traffic jams everyday now, long queue of medical services, and many things, do sinkaporeans have to wait until 2030.
Worse , PAP instead of solving the current problems the 5.3 million people are facing , PAP paint a rosy picture 17 years from now.
In fact, people are saying the PIE should have 6 to 8 lanes on either side of the highway right now, so what you think ? PAP must be sleeping right !
When you talk about 2030, PAP need not address problems now ?
PAP is stuck in the m&d now. They have no idea to solve the current problems people are facing .
The 2030 carpet is just a damage control for the current problems, they hope the problems go away and wait for 2030 to come !
You guys remember there was a person who said sinkaporeans could go JB old folk home ?
suddenly we can house 6.9 million ?
so people are distracted by the 6.9 million, and they forget the painful traffic jams around sinkapore ?
so PAP keeps talking about the fairy-tale 2030, and they need not attend to problematic infrastructures people are facing now ?
The 6.9 with the 2030 carpet looks quite sure to backfire.
