Just heard on the news that Japan has grounded all it's BOEing 787s. Does SIA have any of these 787s?

Lucky for them. Otherwise they would be having more headaches :)

What do you expect from a bunch of Xbox or PlayStation generations plane builders?

They sure make your life challenging.

Scoot is sticking to the Dreamliner despite reports of problems

Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is sticking to its Dreamliner order and is confident that Boeing will solve the problems that have hit the aircraft recently.

A spokesman told The Straits Times on Wednesday: "Boeing has kept us fully informed about the performance of the 787 since we committed to acquire the aircraft. We are confident that Boeing's ongoing performance monitoring and external review process will identify and resolve any issues, and look forward to taking delivery of our first 787 on schedule in late 2014."

The airline has ordered 20 of these planes. Her comments come in the wake of a decision to ground all 24 of Japan's B-787 passenger jets for safety checks.

This was after a plane operated by All Nippon Airways made an emergency landing in western Japan on Wednesday morning following a cockpit message that indicated battery problems. It was the latest of a series of problems including a battery fire and a fuel leak on the aircraft. The United States Federal Aviation Administration has launched a comprehensive safety review of the plane's critical systems

Just wondering if SIA made the right choice in choosing the Airbus A380? Do they have enough people flying those routes to make $

A380 only for popular route with huge capacity passenger like Japan.
Now economy bad. Many manger and company have change policy to choose budget airline.

How about those non-stop flights to the US?

This miscalculation is going to cost SIA $$$. I think BOEings strategy of going the lighter & more efficient aircraft route was smarter than the bigger is better that Airbus chose. SIA is going to have difficulty selling their A380 to other airlines because of the poor economy.

Launch customers face all sorts of these teething issues. Some problems are minor and do not affect the airworthiness of the aircraft while some are major defects and require immediate attention and action.

I have to agree on this point but seriously I think SIA is pretty lucky with their A380 unlike fuckup, racist, protectionist Qantas
