However, individuals have a choice of not participating in the rat race. For example the suicide rate amongst the Malays is very low because they have prioritised their lives so that the pursuit of material wealth is in not the be all and end all of ones existence.

Suicide has nothing to do with the PAP. The stress is caused by sinkie parents who drive their kids far too hard. If they adopt the attitude of our Muslim brothers and tell our children that it is ok to "relac one corner", the stresses will dissipate in no time and the kids can be kids again.
