Windows 8 is going to fail.
Consumers are going stay away (like what happened to Windows Vista).
OEMs will want downgrade rights to Windows 7 on new machines.
Corporate users are going to skip upgrading.

come to think of it what will 8 have over 7? Win 7 has dx11 rendering for those that game. I cannot recall the other features off hand oh yes it requires less ram and cpu to work cos it doesn't have some of the bloated crap vista has. That's all i can recall off hand for win 7. dx11 isn't even mainstream yet why would they need win 8.

Like in your posted picture, 8 is meant to be a test pad. Consumers are actually paying to trial test for MS then feedback and forward their complaints back to MS and so Win 9 will be the remedy and improved version.
Moral of the story : Never pay from your pocket to trial test for Microshit.

At the end of the day you can always d/l and get the free version. I'm using a free version of win 7 ultimate 64 bit. Much better than xp or vista i might add.

wah how did u get that? I used to have xp and vista 64 installed on my other hdds which was so stupid cos virus scanner would take so long and then loading into 2 other oses would be so troublesome.

What you see in the picture posted by Jah is true. Don't jump to 8 but get Win 7 if you want to upgrade.

Win 8 is Win 7 with a metro interface and much less the original interface. Even trying to find control panel is a pain. U can download the thing to try
