David Fong what's the point of having a facebook page if you don't recognise feedback from here? this is a facade?

Haikal Haditall SMRT - you screw up big time. That "Income Opportunity " message to cabbies is just plain appalling and never should have happened.

Ah Teo due to the breakdown of the mrt, i had to call a cab to get home and it costs me $30. where can I claim this amount? it is unfair for all who are trapped that night and not get their refunds. I saw a lot of people rushing out and calling a cab to get home or for their appt. I am not going to be responsible for this additional cost imposed on me.

Kenny Giam SMRT must be held accounted for what has happened on 15th Dec. You guys pride themselves as First World Transportation but in truth, SMRT is worst than than even third world countries. In your eyes, profit and money are the only things you people care about. First Increase Cab Fare and then when the mrt break down, start to send out information to all your cabs to rush down to grab "income opportunity". This is like trying to make profit from people or country's plight. Totally unethical!! Its like the shame of the country!

Looking Back ….

You must be wondering why I am starting this blog.

Well, a lot has happened in the last 9 years during my time as SMRT CEO.

When I was asked in 2002 to take up the SMRT post, I knew little about the company, as my last job took me away from Singapore quite a bit and my interaction was largely at an international commercial organisation serving travellers.

Since then, times have changed. I feel so much for SMRT and the men and women in the organisation who serve the nation selflessly every day.

In my final weeks as CEO, I will be taking a walk down memory lane, and moving on. So much has been said, many moments and words I will always remember. It is now the time for me to express my personal thoughts.

I will be sharing my life, reflecting on how the experience has changed me, and also talking about how I think SMRT has changed, what we were then and what we are today, and what the future holds for both of us.

In 2002 when I left DFS, I thought I would naturally move along the same retail industry which I have been in since my graduation in 1978. However, when the job opportunity at SMRT came along, I was open to explore.

It was perhaps the sense of adventure, challenge and freshness, which excited me. The board convinced me that they were ready for leadership that would bring the company to a real listed corporation with opportunities to find synergy in 2 newly merged organisations.

So I took the plunge, left my comfort zone and boarded a completely new train.

It is still crowded as usual. Overcrowded! The funny thing is, those sinkie girls nowadays does not seem to mind being surrounded by indians and bangalas. But when I accidentally (really accidentally) brush against their forearm, they gave me a disgusting look  (fyi, Im the 3rd most handsome man in this forum after drifter and ramseth)
