Chitchat If you're over 65 and have a country club membership. Read carefully, you demented

some rich people who had 'see open' in life, live humble lives.....some low ses who drives a car think they big fucks......thats nature
I have a former colleague who stays in a 4-room HDB flat, but loves to drive used continental cars like Mercedes, BMW and Audi. He says nobody needs to know where he lives, but he is able to display his car wherever he drives to. He typically owns a car for 2-3 years i.e. he buys used cars that are around 7-8 years old.

Definitely, new money. Old money wouldn't buy such cars.
The used car salesman says these customers are typically in their late 30s to early 60s, who may be hawkers, insurance/real estate agents, salesmen, loan sharks or small business owners.

Expected demographic groups. Would rather drive a brand new camry than a used continental car (with 1-2 years COE left)? HAHAHA!

I drive a Lexus ES300h, which some label an 'uncle's car'. For a man in his mid-fifties, it is a car that suits my needs and stage of life well.

$300K+ Everything stock, including rims?

I'm a member of SAFRA clubs. Where does that rank in terms of prestige and status? :sneaky:
The SAFRA Club is about as prestigious as the Satay Club which comprised of 3 open-air hawker centres in S'pore that are no longer operating. The first Satay Club was located near Beach Road, the second at the Esplanade and third at Clarke Quay, which closed permanently in 2005.

SAFRA different. I was also a member. That one is for "regular" people.
I used to be a SAFRA member until they stopped offering free membership. Since then, I have been relegated to ActiveSG club and steal aircon at NLB.

SAFRA Mt. Faber and SAFRA Yishun are as good as other country clubs, if you are not into golfing.
