Miss Universe host Steve Harvey says God 'never created a soul without endowing them with a gift'

American comedian Steve Harvey made the news recently when he made the mistake of announcing Miss Colombia as the winner of the 2016 Miss Universe pageant when the real winner was actually Miss Philippines.
This time, Harvey is trying to make the news for something else entirely.
On his Facebook page, the "Family Feud" host shared a video of him talking to the game show audience about "jumping" in order to be successful.
"God, when he created all of us, gave every last one of us a gift at birth. He never created a soul without endowing them with a gift," said Harvey.
Those gifts aren't always what people expect. People love to be blessed with the gift of singing, dancing, and entertaining, but there are less glamorous gifts as well such as landscaping, drawing, and barbering.
He recalled that one of his friends would often turn down invitations to hang out with his friends claiming that he has commitments to cut grass in the morning. They would often tease him, "Cutting grass? How much do they pay you?"
But now, Harvey's friend is a millionaire because he utilised his gift of cutting grass. "He's got a landscaping company in Cleveland worth $4 million. He was gifted at it," said Harvey.
According to him, people can get pointers from the Bible on how best to use their gifts. "Your Bible says, 'Your gift will make room for you.' Your gift, not your education," he explained. "You can go get an education, that's nice. But if you don't use your gift, that education (is) only going to take you so far."
He added that if people don't use their gifts, then they are simply "going to just go to work."
For him, that isn't living. "You're just existing," said Harvey.
He urged people to take a leap of faith and "jump" towards their dreams.
"When you first jump, your parachute will not open right away. But eventually, the parachute has to open. That is a promise of God. That ain't a theory, that's a promise. His promises are true. You cannot name one single thing God has not gotten you through," he said.
