Do you collect toys as a hobby?

I collect zippos too:), and I prefer the brass type with designs and I modified a few those with designs. I like brass because it age beautifully with variation in tones and texture. I prefer to use armored brass zippo jackets.

There is a constantine (the movie) lighter that was cast in brass by an artist to house the zippo insert. (not the constantine zippo)

Only thing i collect now is Zippo lighters and in my earlier days, I use to collect Trophies.

1/6 scale from hottoys?

Yes its 1/6 scale from Dragon Action figures...

I'm thinking of getting a replica toy rifle modeled after the real one.. I think its legal as I once saw this small toy shop at Changi Village selling these replica rifles.. The shop had HK MP5 rifles, M16, Berretta Handguns and Sniper rifles complete with a sniper scope.. Many other models available there too..The shop closed down 2 years back.. The owner told me that he had license to sell this replica rifles as they are certified by the authorities to be model toys.. They really look damn real indeed, just like the real thing...

Why collect replica that can't be used? You can buy the real thing in US or Thailand and it can be used to save your life.

Bro Ram just curious how much does the real one cost in Thailand, an automatic handgun? I'm really mad about guns.. Too bad can't bring it back to Spore...:o

S&W revolver types between US$200-300 in US legal gunshop. Glock and Magnum auto types between US$400-500. Don't worry about bullets. US$10 can buy one whole box enough to gun down a whole old McDonald's farm, farmers and cows inclusive. But that's legal gunshop. You have to have legal US residency to buy. Thailand doesn't have legal gunshops. All illegals. US also have illegals, more expensive but more varities available. It's hard to choose models from illegals since they're almost on while stock last and don't know when next stock coming basis, and always expensive, never less than US$1,000 for any model since they charge commission and risk premium.

1. I saw the shop at changi. The items look nice from far, but I wouldn't call them replicas. They are out of scale on every part. Not advisable to get. All the out-of-scale details are moulded with the body:( Last I saw the shop gone liao.

You can try ebay, one sgp selling the items, but same toy like.

2. Good replicas are in Japan, HK, PRC also (if you know where to look). Once received a present, a 6 shot plastic replica for Japan. Works like the real thing with all mechanism right down to the firing pin. And each round is spring operated and operates like the way a round should work. Have to compress the spring in each round and load. The hammer hits the firing pin, and the firing pin hits the repurcussion cap of the round, releases the spring in the round, pushes the diapham outwards and the compressed air in the round pushes the cone-like cap out. But my mom threw it away when I was in school.:(

Now not much time to engage in the painting:(

But do you know where can I get Airfix paint (if they are still available)? I like their superfast drying. I need it paint my 1/1 scale darth vader helmet:) So that it will be close to the original.

Water base or oil base? U can try that shop at katong shopping center Morgans 2nd floor they are airfix's rep in SG

Do you do airbrushing or handbrush for painting? And do you get after market addons?

Mostly handbrushing still have not perfected the airbrushing skill yet. As for add ons sometimes mostly the decals not the tracks thou my eyesight not so good already too blur to see the fine detail but as for the turret and other stuff its on a case to case basis and see if they want to bring it in to SG.

LOL......... Change wife:mad::D:D:D:D

Me too, am still interested in WWII. My favourite american tank is the "Struat"....very vintage looking with all the rivets on the armor. German tank is none other than the early tiger I and panzer IV.

stuart tank. no such thing as "struat" tank.
