Do deep pockets win IP lawsuits, esp in SG?

Confuseous

Said Dr Ting of the dropped suit, “I’m not a bottomless pit. It’s very intimidating. They (MINDEF) have three sets of lawyers. For my case, only Dr. Mak and myself are funding MobileStats’ legal costs. If they want to chase us for costs, the company may have to wind up.”

So it seems that in Singapore, a patent is not worth much at all if you don’t have the finances to fight for it in court. Depending on the duration and complexity of the case, many companies could find themselves incapable of defending their own patents if someone with deeper pockets decided to copy them.

Having been 10 years in the creative industry, I’ve had my fair share of ideas stolen from me. Sometimes it’s hard to prove, like when a potential client you pitched a concept to selects another agency and runs with that exact same line of copy you wrote. Sometimes it’s blatant, when another site steals your article wholesale and makes money off advertising.

lets see
19-21 mar

the strategy (of lawyers) is plain for you to see. they will drag it out again to drain you of your money and resources, and force you to concede. why not concede early and upturn the lawyers' applecart? you've been had, and it's a no-win case. your attorneys just have to be frank with you.

eventually we will go to court. im selling the flat already. i will have enough to cover my legal fees, and be bankrupt

would u conceded if u will lose more than everyhting when one has done no worng

i would if the court date is postponed more than once. like in a poker game, if you have the small chip stack in a one-on-one faceoff, your opponent with the massive chip stack will whittle you away by attrition. you can bet on it that the date will be postponed again.

or for sure it will be postponed, or an attempt will be made

so if u sue someone and are so right, then why not go to court and get what u want. im not suing anyone BTW

most people dont seem to grasp what im ACTUALLY being sued for, and i cannot explain it here. some people have "screw bollah's" pre conceived notion of what thy think im being sued for, so wait for the truth when we FINALLY make it to court

if there's a pending court case and you've been sued, i'm sure any credible lawyer representing you will advise you not to spill the beans on an online forum. it's a lost cause if you go against your lawyer's (valuable and costly) advice.
