Defiantly not as stupid as a farking Bigot coward like yourself.

the money changer by chinese at ground level, opposite the dbs bank is pretty ok. but have to ask rate, pretend to walk away, they give a better rate.

Yes, Hatyai has no moneychanger businesses. The travel agencies double up as moneychangers. And yes, the rates are very good. I'd recommend Davis (representing Sri Maju), Lovely (representing Grassland) and 99 Coachland (representing KKKL). Singapore probably has the highest number of moneychangers per capita or per sq. km. in the world. That's why we're spoiled for choice and by competition. If you go to US, after you leave the airport, any airport of any city, that's the end of moneychanging for the next hundred miles. You'd better have your US dollars ready or be prepared to pay the bank 15% commission for currency exchange, that's much worse than the mamas.

ya, the first time I arrive there, I was lost, cos no FX counter, later I realised actaul travel agencies have...

Where got good money changer one, all of them out there to earn your money haha, demand and supply mah, we all lan lan unless you are one of them

Lets put it this way, in terms of business lingo, there is only few good man, all depends on whether earn more or less ...

There's no such thing as honest money changer cos they always shortchange you!:D
Ah boh eat what?:D

yea the changers always offer lousier rates compared to the rates found on the net. That's cos they are earning when you change.

I don't begrudge moneychangers for making some money out of exchanging money. It's their job and they have to pay rent and make a living too. The internet rates are bulk forex rates, usually in terms of $100,000 transaction size and cashless transaction. I don't expect to get that rate exchanging a few hundreds in cash at a corner store.

Using ATM abroad will get you those internet rates since interbank settlements are always in bulk rates. But international ATM isn't free too, they have to buy and maintain the machines. They'll charge you anywhere from 5% to $50 depending on currency, interbank agreement and withdrawal amount. You'd still end up roughly the same on average tourist transaction from a few hundreds to a few thousands at most. Cash comes with a cost. It's called cost of carry. Cashless transaction comes with a cost too. It's called cost of service.
