I am not a marriage expert but generally, I have observed that for good long-lasting marriages, both the husband and wife must be have equal footing in a society, at home and at work.
I sometimes take taxis and perhaps you can chat with why some taxi drivers end up driving taxis.

Some do so because they are retrenched and most of them are males.

One even said that he was asked to resign from a ship/transport company because of poor performance after 10 years of service but after he left, he found out from another colleague that he was replaced with cheaper workers on work permit.

Therefore, I don’t think that your advertisements on female discrimination is an accurate picture. Males do face equal discrimination as females.

CDL Limited also hires only females as leasing executives in their shopping malls.

So do Far East and Capitaland.

I too, lost a job, due to female discrimination in the past.

The boss was a divorcee with a hatred for all men. She once told another colleague that ‘all men are unreliable’ due to her past history with her ex-husband.

However, she still needs men in her department because of her lack of IT knowledge and muscle power to move goods and exhibition panels during some events.

Yet, she marked me and another male IT programmer down in her appraisal and gave both of us satisfactory appraisals but gave a female administrator A+ for her work.

She was very nasty to males and was constantly making personal attacks on me and the other male colleague but was on terms with female colleagues.

On one occassion, I took urgent leave for a job interview as I couldn’t stand her nonsense. When I lied to her to mention that my mother was sick, she had the audacity to curse my mother to die.

When some of us feedback to our big boss, the Executive Director, he sided with her and said that she was just doing her job and didn’t even had the effort to investigate our concerns.

In the end, I had to leave as I wasn’t able to face any more verbal abuse from her. I feared that one of those days, I would end up in jail for slapping her.

Ironically, when the other male colleague had to take remedial lessons for ICT Reservist, she forced him to use his own leave rather than just give him time off from work.

This is one lady whom we need not protect in times of war. From my personal point of view, it has become increasingly difficult for males to assimilate and do well in Singapore’s society. This will manifest itself into a low-birth rate scenario.

In fact, Singapore women are now doing much better than men career wise.

MCYS Statistics show that 62% of Women are in Division 1 in Civil Service http://app1.mcys.gov.sg/ResearchRoom/ResearchStatistics/SeniorOfficersinCivilServicebyGender.aspx

Most of the job interviews that I attended are now staffed by female directors.

Other positions such as teachers, HR Managers and accounts are also professions which are dominated by females because they are traditionally thought to be neater and more meticulous than men.

Childhood behaviour psychologists have shown that most males suffer from many learning disabilities. This includes autism, dyslexia and dysprexia.

Some of my friends in MOE also mentioned that many of the attention deficit disorders mostly afflict the males.

Sociologists and behavioural scientists found that if a country has too many unemployed males from the age range of 15 to 30, riots and chaos can break out easily.

The recent PSLE results also confirmed that females are out-performing the male counterparts.

In addition, women now have more CPF than males in Singapore. Last but not least, I was also subjected to blatant gender discrimination at work.

One of my previous female boss hired me because I was able to carry heavy stores but she, being a divorcee, distrusted males a lot and discreetly told another female colleague that all ‘men are unreliable’ during their lunch hour.

In another example, I also observed how a single female manager uncanningly hired only females in her own department while throwing out male job applicants.

Given this silent war between males and females, it is not hard to see why many males choose to remain single as well.

Besides racial discrimination and xenophobia, this gender war will also tear our social fabric apart.

Thanks alot.

you wouldnt end up in jail for slapping her. the police will come and jus tell u to file a magistrates complaint. but then again, knowing our 2 different laws, anything is possible. only in sinkieland, where the men are treated to be like pussies. its all started by the chink dynasty. blame your friends and your kind for treating them like princesses. now that the shit has hit the fan, everyone is getting it. too bad...
