i really can't understand gov hospital doctors these days.

just back visiting my criticallyl sick auntie. she was 80+, vomitted blood and admitted into the intensive care unit.

the consulting dr told us that in case she went into cardiac arrest due to low blood pressure, he requested our permission NOT TO SAVE her and let her go.

why such warped advice?? i thought dr's ethic is to save life and "not to let anyone go without a fight".

another auntie who had passed away in the hospital also got such ridiculous advice from the dr. he said that "there's no point saving as her organs are mostly deteriorated and best to let her go ...." this sounded like it wasn't a human on the bed. it was like a sick animal waiting to be put to sleep like that :(

then it dawned unto me... DID THOSE BIG DOCTORS DARE SAY THE SAME TO LAU LEE WHO ALSO HAD A CRITICALLY SICK GECKO? she passed away but did the drs try to save her at that critical moment or "just let her go in peace" without lifting a finger to save her?

i m very confused now. what is a moral role of a doctor? if u r poor and sick, does it mean that they would hope "to let u go in peace" something like a grievously sick dog waiting to be put to sleep?

is our moral now deteriorated to such an inhuman and unfeeling state?

Lawyers never fight for justice!
Doctors never save lifes!

Police have no desire for your safety!

They are all only interested in the salary, albeit overpaid!

Add one more:

Bankers (RMs) are never interested to help you make money, they just want to churn your bank accounts for their commissions

Doctors who want to save lifes are all in Africa.

Anyway, your Aunt's doctor is not giving you advise. He just gave you an option which you can say no.

When a patient is critically ill, doctors normally give a DNR for (Do Not Resuscitate) form for the next of kin to sign.

Sometimes it just pointless to try and resuscitate a patient who is on the verge of dying. The cost just does not justify the benefit of pulling someone critically ill back from the brink of death, only to have that person in a permanently vegetated state. Hospitals nowadays are very good at keeping patients alive if that's what they really want, but at what cost?

It is easy to be emotive or even self-righteous about such thing, but the doctor is really doing you and your family, as well as the patient a favor. When it's time to let go, you should let go.

that also happened to me some years back _ " let me tell you first hor, if she collapse, she won't be candidate for the ICU hor "

Clergymen (of all religions) don't care about improving your spirituality.
Academics don't care about increasing your knowledge.

Just remember to opt out of HOTA before you breathe your last breath in Sinkieland. That's the most important.

Each kidney is worth approx. 40K USD on the black market, at least.

And they want to take your cornea, liver, kidneys and heart, and sell at a profit to those visiting rich medical tourists. They certainly won't need to queue for a transplant.

...

Did you use your phone to record this allegation?

Sometimes, it is better not to prolong the life of someone on the brink of death. 长痛不如短痛.

Lau lee is king whereas the rest are peasants. Never pay income tax some more. Definitely ask you go and die.

they give a DNR form?? u mean once u endorse it, they shirk their responsiblity to resuscitate??

ok. did they do the same when treating the late gecko of the loving old man? did they dare to do the same?

i know the drs wanna do something. then again, my aunt is someone's mother. if she were to be their mother, would they still say the same thing? does miracle ever happen again?

i think miracles do happen again. if not the late gecko would have been long gone. the old man does believe in miracle except if to others like the average peasants, miracles are just unlikely to happen or not given a fair chance to happen :(

if the same critical state happen to lau lee which could be very soon. would he be put to sleep eternally? would they dare to say such DNR words to his familee?

if those doctors dare, then i admire them and salute them for their true integrity. they see both the rich and poor as human beings of the same level.

It's more about the patient than the doctor. If patient goes on living, what's the quality of her life? to be resuscitated so that she can begin suffering all over again? Or take the opportunity during cardiac arrest when the body is unable to sense any pain to let her go? Isnt it better for her? If you were the one in that bed, would you rather go on sleeping forever than to be awakened to more pain and suffering, where the next time, you may not be so lucky and kena extreme pain before you die?

Many chose to prolong someone's life out of a guilt trip thinking that they are doing the dying a favour when they are only self-serving.

they prolonged gecko's life until the last breathe.

i agree with one of the poster here that because of the emotional attachment, it just too painful to agree to let the loved one go.
