i really can't understand gov hospital doctors these days.
just back visiting my criticallyl sick auntie. she was 80+, vomitted blood and admitted into the intensive care unit.
the consulting dr told us that in case she went into cardiac arrest due to low blood pressure, he requested our permission NOT TO SAVE her and let her go.
why such warped advice?? i thought dr's ethic is to save life and "not to let anyone go without a fight".
another auntie who had passed away in the hospital also got such ridiculous advice from the dr. he said that "there's no point saving as her organs are mostly deteriorated and best to let her go ...." this sounded like it wasn't a human on the bed. it was like a sick animal waiting to be put to sleep like that :(
then it dawned unto me... DID THOSE BIG DOCTORS DARE SAY THE SAME TO LAU LEE WHO ALSO HAD A CRITICALLY SICK GECKO? she passed away but did the drs try to save her at that critical moment or "just let her go in peace" without lifting a finger to save her?
i m very confused now. what is a moral role of a doctor? if u r poor and sick, does it mean that they would hope "to let u go in peace" something like a grievously sick dog waiting to be put to sleep?
is our moral now deteriorated to such an inhuman and unfeeling state?
