If you have to queue in a banking hall, you're obviously a customer who is liability rather than an asset. I banked with DBS since way back in the 80s. When I needed service, they'd send an officer to see me. I never had to queue in the bank. In fact, I hardly ever set foot in their premises.
Nowadays the only reason I go the bank is to pay my credit card bills. I can of course avoid this by just using the CC from the same bank & pay via the phone but I have several CC from different banks. I have a tin can at home which I fill up with money for day to day expenses so I don't have to go to an ATM so often.
I don't understand why people chose the long queues at DBS. At Citi the queue is usually short. Maybe 10 people or less. You don't really have to be wealthy, only need to keep a minimum of $5,000. Last time you needed to maintain a $15,000 minimum.
Many banks offer priority services to some of their clients. I had someone looking after me at Citi:o However since I moved my $$$ out of Spore I don't really qualify anymore which is just fine with me because I prefer to remain anonymous.
