Years ago Dr Chee should have just left for the US with his chio taiwanese wife and kids after he was fired from his teaching job at NUS. He has a PhD which he earned in the US.

He would have found a job easily. He'd be a professor by now maybe or in private practice, staying in a big house, driving more than one car, living a very comfortable life with his family.

Speaking of microforests…I took a drive to a state park to see the California redwoods I had heard so much about. It didn’t disappoint. Its magnificence is truly breathtaking. Some of them are more than 2,000-years old.
This one is nearly 300 ft – about 3x the height of an HDB block in Sembawang West.
Meanwhile in Singapore, we are clearing more forests for development, including more data centres. But no worries, the government says they are ‘green’ data centres. And to compensate for the immense heat generated, not to mention the enormous amounts of power and water needed, we just have to use more fan and less air-con.
