Controlled access to Bukit Batok carpark
No season parking ticket? Gantry will not lift for you

This gantry at a Housing Board multi-storey carpark is not meant to deduct money from your CashCard.

Instead, it scans cars and, at certain times, lets in only those with a season parking ticket for the carpark.

The HDB built the gantry at Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 last October to safeguard the parking needs of residents there.

Cars without season parking tickets are not allowed to enter the carpark on Sundays and public holidays, and from 7pm to 7am on other days.

This gantry is part of HDB's $66 million programme to solve Singapore's parking crunch. About 5,000 new carpark lots will also be added in the next three years.

HDB said the gantry has reduced the average number of illegal parking cases there in a month from about 480 to fewer than 20.

HDB said it will build similar gantries in other estates if they face such parking woes too.

They can park on the roadside with teh double yellow line, zig zag like & the parking lot for the disabled. It is the plant venus fly trap, the 'mouth' is laced with honey.
