COE debate - WP vs PAP

Balloting is the fairest. Now a common person can't even have a chance to get a chance for a car. Only the rich can.just pay $100k+.
The main problem is the many jhks coming in to SG. The lorries, the motorbikes, the phvs. All coming in to steal rice bowl & gaming the road without COE while sinkies pay through their nose.

A vile policy..aim at sucking money from the populace without considering the impact n stress it cause to its people...The hundreds of billions collected... very little used to offset
transport cost of other general commuter ..not even 1%...

Our government use money to solve everything so that they can pay themselves well.

We ended up with country with no plan and people with no progress.

Very easy la

Make those with multiple cars pay more

1 COE normal price
2 COE 20% + normal
3 COE 50% + normal
4 COE + 100% more

That's why I always say the 65% pawned to 100% giving the blank cheque to enrich their own pockets only.

PAP will always favor highest bidder system. WP is delirious to think they can partner PAP on policy, hah! After living offshore for so long, this COE is alien to me. If I want to buy a car, I buy a car. I buy what suits my need and personality, not by price tag. No one gives a fuck if you drive a Merc.

The PAP controls the COE prices: the higher the better, as far as they are concerned

Do buyers of condos and landed homes need to ballot to purchase their properties? It all boils down to affordability.
The govt already said that as long as you can afford it, you may have as many as your wallet can afford.

Public goods yes. HDB.
Private under Pte market. The owners selling are there to price high for profit.
Not public sector. It's supposed to be fair allocation of scarce resources. Not enough build more roads. Already collected so much taxes from the taxpayers.

The govt does not want the masses mingling
with the elites in S'pore.

The govt's rationale is that car buyers pay the COE and other related taxes which benefits non-car owners in terms of subsidised public transport.
The taxes collected must already be audited & have flows to show from who to whom. If it's so straight forward, there would not be so many conflicts of interest. Does the IRAS have flows that shows road related taxes are financed by only taxpayers of coe...Etc? Only those CS will know. As long as it is fair & not politically influenced, the taxes collected will be handled fairly for the citizens isn't it? or just flow to the kaki lang & cronies.

This is the result of self-check and balances in the SG govt.

All that would do is create a market for proxy ownership. If 2nd COE is 20% more a potential buyer can register under my name if I don't own a car for a much lower percentage.

When you think something is "very easy" it's because you have not thought things through.

First get another party into Parliament to check ring party. Then can change.
One car , don't even need coe. It's every sinkie birthright. 2nd onwards OK.
First property no need tax since every sinkie household needs a roof. 2nd onwards.

so many issues in the country, and the Wayang Party AKA Worker's Party want to debate about COE? hahhahahhaa Can u say fake Oppo? How many sinkies can afford to buy a car, even if COE was lowered? What about cost of living in the most expensive city in the world? What about no jobs for locals. What about so many FTs in Singapore. etc.
