Ah, looks like you have run into the ancient Chinese value of reporting good news but not bad news.
This phenomenon is symptomatic of many government and government-related organisations in Singapore. If you have worked overseas, you will realise that it is normal to report problems you have no control over to your superiors. However, I realised that in Singapore, if you do this, you are likely to be marked for increasing the workload of your superiors as no one else will do this and the superiors are not interested to know about the problems (as most of them are incompetent and did not get to their positions because of true capability). It is just like the PAP wanting constructive criticism where you provide the solutions to them as well.

2 points of commonsense. 1. If all soldiers are required to be in the new uniform, then all soldiers must be issued with the new uniform. 2. No need to issue because the soldier is going to ORD? What's he going to wear when reporting for reservist?

If your intention is to make the SAF look bad, know that everyone has always dissed the army since the beginning of local forums - your complaint is a drop in a big ocean.
If you want a solution, just ask your son to take MC outside on the AOH day. What a no-brainer! Even a school dropout ah beng knows how to do this.
