Church wall defaced by Sinkie during Easter weekend

The wall surrounding the compound of the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd was defaced during the Easter weekend.

A single word - possibly 'Grow!' or 'Growl' - was spray-painted in black across the white wall near the front of the church facing Bras Basah Road.

The cathedral, a national monument, is the main church of the Singapore Catholic Archdiocese, and is also where the archbishop lives.

Cathedral staff said they discovered the graffiti last Saturday afternoon and filed a police report on the same day. A spokesman for the archdiocese said it did not want to speculate on why the church was defaced or what the word meant.

Taoists outraged by model in religious robe

The Taoist Federation (Singapore) is thinking of lodging a police report after a model wore a Taoist ceremonial robe at a fashion event last month.

Photos of a fashion show put up by the Floral Designers Society (Singapore) show a model wearing the robe and carrying the “ruyi” -- a sceptre that is deemed as a dignified object in the religion. The photos were circulated on several Facebook accounts.

Mr Chung Kwang Tong, secretary-general of the Taoist Federation Youth Group, said the robe had been "exactly the same" as the sacred ceremonial robe worn by Taoist priests when they conduct religious ceremonies and important rituals, "and only ordained Taoist priests can wear it”..

The organiser apologised unreservedly if the incident had offended anyone.

Singapore pigs have lost their respect for religious practices of other people because LKY stopped religious classes in schools...... because they were "divisive"..... according to the god of the PAP the divine LKY.........
