According to a Business Times report, an entity linked to Zhao Zhichao of The Elegant Group has agreed on a S$809 million deal to buy The Clementi Mall from Cuscaden Peak Investments.

This means that The Elegant Group, set up in 2015, owns five suburban malls in Singapore, The Straits Times reported.

Here are some of the malls listed on Elegant Group's website.

Grantral Mall is just next to the newly acquired Clementi Mall.

According to BT, the Zhao-linked entity's offer is 8 per cent higher than the "indicative guide price of about S$750 million".

According to EdgeProp, the Elegant Group has also taken projects in Australia.

They revamped one of their properties in Sydney Chinatown to incorporate "traditional Chinese motifs" to honour the "site’s cultural heritage".

Then it's okay. But Clementi Mall's design is fucked up, one of the worse suburb malls on the island. Great World City is nice, but it was well-designed from the start.

If you want to see an authentic Tiong style mall, head over to the smaller mall next to Clementi Mall: Grantral Mall. Formerly Cityvibes, and once upon a time the Clementi Theatre. Recently they put a stall selling Tiong snacks next to the escalators on the ground floor.
