Speaking of this forum, some people who post here can be really sickening.
10 years ago, in the delphi forum and when this forum initially began, there were genuine people who came here with nicknames, talking about problems that affected their lives, asking real questions which they didn't know the answer to and really wanted to know the answer, giving suggestions, opinions or comments to others, (whether they needed it or not!), scolding or telling off people who deserved it, whether in the public eye or not, even giving ideas where to look for good food or entertainment or quiet or fun.
Nowadays, we get lots of people also posting with nicknames but screwing one another, condemning one another without much thought or logic and lots and lots of drivel and tirades with little or no sense. I really wonder why the quality of the forum has dropped so much since delphi days.
Speaking of politics and voting, I'm generally opposition biased, because I'm tired of the condescending and arrogant manner which the pappies treat ordinary singaporeans. But I'm also happy to cast a spoilt or blank vote if I don't agree with or approve of the opposition candidate, as I don't believe in letting these people get a free ride into parliament, just because of individual pappies. I generally don't disagree with ALL pappy policies. For example, if a certain slipper wearing politician stood as a candidate, I don't think I would vote for him. Not because he and his family have been in the news recently, but simply because I think politicians should have more respect for the people he is looking to serve. Simply saying that wearing slippers is more comfortable doesn't cut it for me. It's ok to wear slippers to the market or to the nearby mall or foodcourt, but not when you are looking to work and serve the people. I also won't be voting for politicians who expect vote guarantees even before they decide to stand for elections.
And I certainly don't approve of opposition candidates bickering about who holds what post, when there is a much bigger problem and much more powerful opponent to overcome.
