so much talk about emotional support and school counsellors to help the schools, why not zoom out and take a look at the bigger picture? if there’s little or no parental involvement in the development of child, every effort done by the school goes to naught.
it’s no joke when you say it takes a village to raise a child- look at how we function as a kampung in the past, every brat is well known in the village and whipped into shape, either by the parents and the elder siblings or a bigger hooligan.
go think about the detrimental effects of shrinking family size have on the collective cultural identity of a family unit, and on the far end of the scope, the future of our nation. Thank goodness I’ll be long dead and need not witness the full effects of the current state of affairs.
