Censorship at TOC or Have the Homosexuals Taken Over TOC?

Thomas Lee

Alfrescian
Loyal
This is an exchange currently going on at TOC under the header "Hong Lim Park turns into a sea of Pink"

Below is my message to the smearing and censorship practised by the TOC.

Hopefully, the homosexuals will turn up in full force in this forum and say what they have to say and be countered without resorting to their feeble crutch of censorship as their "argument".

Thomas Lee 20 June 2011
To all the homosexuals.

Not sure if this message will be censored by TOC again.

I will continue this exchange at Sam Alfresco Heaven. This will be my last post in this forum.

The attempt by TOC to smear me and censor my views by dishonestly claiming I was “astroturfing”, “writing under different pseudonyms” and making ‘reasonable’ questions as ‘Thomas’” but “make(ing) hateful comments as ‘Ang’” makes the TOC no different from the PAP mouthpiece, The Straits Time.

i mean- monthly rallies

Sadar 19 June 2011
Looks like the organizers are inflating the attendance numbers. Judging from the picture, and the limited size of Hong Lim Park, no way is this 10,000. At best 1,000, max 2,000, people.

Blah 19 June 2011
@ Sadar: Nonsense. A typical school hall which is but a fraction of Hong Lim Park’s area can already hold more than a thousand sitting, much less standing.

In any case the picture can be zoomed in. Does that look like anything near 2000 people only?

Oleh, Oleh oleh oleh! Repeal 377A and bring back the love and freedom GLBT deserves. Otherwise PAP will get what they deserved come 2015 election.

Thomas Lee 19 June 2011
You can always count on homosexuals with their sexual fetish for the same sex to turn up for what is essentially a circus and freak show and then proclaim it as a success.

The reality is that if homosexuality is indeed “normal” and “genetic”, it would have died out a long time ago as their genes cannot be passed on.

These homosexuals should seek psychiatric help for their personality and sexual disorders.

Sayang Singapura 19 June 2011
Is it too costly and too stressful to raise a family and bring up children in Singapore?

Could this be one of the main contributing factors why red dot is turning pink in relatively short time just like the unnatural influx of foreign workers?

Never mind all these. What says the govt then?

agongkia 19 June 2011
Get them to wear red and white during NDP.That will be more practical.

GAYbriel 19 June 2011
@ Thomas – being gay is a natural / normal occurrence in the animal kingdom and human society. If everybody were straight and bred like rabbits, the explosion of human population would’ve killed the earth a long time ago. It’s just nature’s way of cubing population growth.

Thus, you shouldn’t be surprised when you look around your family. 100% sure somehow somewhere, you’ll have someone in your family who is gay. Perhaps your cousin, or your aunt, or your sister, or brother. Or perhaps, your very own son.

Question is – how do you deal with that?

Sean 19 June 2011
well, just like you can count on stupid & ignorant people like Thomas Lee to say dumb things, like heterosexuals don’t have sexual fetish. & being hardly a geneticist, that’s big talk for proclaiming that genes can’t be passed down just because gay people don’t have kids. try coming home earlier one of these days. you might find your girlfriend/wife/daughter trying on your underwear, THEN you come here & spew your crap about fetishes.

Lop 19 June 2011
@Thomas

I’ll offer you an explanation why the ‘homosexual gene’ is being passed on – because everyone carries it. It’s just a matter of how much of this gene is being expressed, that explains why someone is predominantly heterosexual or homosexual or bisexual.

On the other hand, we have seen enough of people who spoke the most vehemently against LGBT and turned out to be secretly homosexual themselves. Teg Haggard, Mark Foley etc.

Perhaps you should seek psychiatric help so you can finally come to terms with your attration to the same sex. Your psychiatrist will tell you that being homosexual is not a psychiatric illness, but homophobia is.

La 19 June 2011
@Thomas

Your views on genetics are simplistic. Many genes can be passed down without being active (consider colour blindness), and many traits are the result of not one or two but the combination of expression of several genes. This is a field in which there are many things that we do not yet know so perhaps you shouldn’t be so dismissive.

Hm 19 June 2011
Too many stupid people in Singapore. I’m not referring to the LGBT community but to everyone who hates them. I’m a straight guy and I used to be homophobic but now that I’m a little older, I realized we’re all human beings who need to respect each other by the very virtue that we’re all HUMAN.

Now, I may not support gay rights causes, but if that’s what helps a group of people to be happier, more content with their lives, then so be it. How the heck does this affect us straight people anyway? It doesnt. Wake up homophobes.

Oliver E. 19 June 2011
@ Thomas Lee

Exactly, homosexuality would have died out millions of years ago but you can’t deny it sill exists.
I ask you why?
Does gods nature not always extinguish unnecessary elements consequently?
Rather, couldn’t be there a much higher reason for the existence of homosexuality silly humans (still) don’t understand?
Or is gods nature silly perhaps?

Goreng Pisang 19 June 2011
I am really amazed how many gays and lesbians exist in singapore.

Thanks to the low quality of life, stress and influx allowing all sorts of people ease of access to more lobangs than 1. Eg. access to singapore job market.

Is this contributing factor to LOWER BIRTH RATE given that they by definition cannot naturally reproduce?

Singapore!
1st world!

Success.

To: Gaybriel

If I had a child who is suffering from a sexual disorder of being a homosexual, I will send him/her for psychiatric treatment.

It is “NO* different for me seeking medical help if my child were born with some other disorders like autism, aspergers, etc.

Just because it is a sexual disorder does not make it “normal”. Get it?

Now tell me, if you had a child who has a obsession with having sex with dogs, would you treat it as “normal” or would you send your child for psychiatric treatment?

To: Thomas’ son.

Wishing that I get a gay offspring is not going to cause me pain. As I said, I will simply send that kid to have his sexual disorder treated.

Best for gays to acknowledge that their homosexuality is a sexual disorder and that they should seek medical teatment for it just as they would if they were suffering from any illness or disorder.

Thomas Lee 19 June 2011
To Hm:

I don’t hate homosexuals. I pity them.

What I do hate though is their militancy in provocatively pushing their agenda in the public arena.

Do what you want to do in the privacy of your bedrooms. Try to push your aberrant sexual behaviour into the faces of the public and promote it to impressionable kids as “normal” and you can and will get a response.

There has been no CHANGE since the Election.

All the talk about Change brought no change. Which policy has changed?

Obama won by selling Change.

What has he achieved?

I think many things.

Aer 19 June 2011
To Thomas Lee

When you say its “Best” for gays to acknowledge their homosexuality and seek medical treatment its like asking a person suffering from polydactylism why s/he didn’t amputate that extra thumb or toe. Ridiculous and inappropriate isn’t it?

For one, it’s none of your business and more importantly, I get the feeling you are insinuating that homosexuality is not only a sexual disorder, but it is socially unacceptable and morally wrong( correct me if I’m wrong). That’s no different from discriminating against a Down’s Syndrome patient simply because he is a minority and hence termed “abnormal”.

My point is, for people exhibiting homo- or bisexual tendencies due to genetics, it is their RIGHT and CHOICE to maintain or seek to treat the disorder. From what I see, a problem should only arise if their actions infringe upon the rights of others and in this case, I see none of the latter. So really may I ask if you are simply homophobic or you just love to shoot your mouth off because technically speaking you have the right to freedom of speech, regardless of the validity or the strength of your argument?

Btw, no offense but “The reality..genes cannot be passed on” demonstrates your ignorance in the field of genetics and hereditary. Oh and calling the event “a circus and freak show” isn’t very civilised.

Cheers.

@Thomas Lee

Are you a deeply closeted self-hating homosexual yourself? Awwww it must be really difficult for you to have so much hate for yourself. I pity you. Embrace yourself and stop hating!!

Lots of love for you <3<3<3<3<3

La 19 June 2011
@Thomas Lee:

Then you admit defeat in your argument that it can not be natural?

The basis of the argument for equal treatment is that homosexuality is neurobiological at birth. In other words, it cannot be changed, and by definition is not a lifestyle choice. Indeed, there is considerable evidence to suggest that this might be the case. Meanwhile, attempts at “curing” homosexuals have, to this date, failed. In view of that, the morality of condemning homosexuals who cannot help being attracted to other humans of the same gender is questionable. As a result of this, homosexuality is no longer recognised as a psychiatric disease by the American Psychiatric Association and the World Health Organisation.

Given these circumstances, the events that you deride as “circuses” are an attempt by the LGBT community to be recognised and to push for equal treatment under the law.

Another argument that is brought up in support of decriminalising homosexual acts between two people is that the acts are themselves consensual, between two adults. It is this argument that you attempt to rail against, having failed to address whether it is natural. Now, you equating incest and bestiality with homosexuality as deviant practices that are merely lifestyle choices. This is a straw man argument and I will not humour you by being drawn into this.

mental disorder 19 June 2011
@Thomas Lee

You should go and get your mental disorder treated as well. It is best that you quickly admit that your mind is not ‘normal’ and stop pushing your agenda of what is ‘normal’ and what is ‘not normal’ to the public.

Saying homophobic or back-dated misconception about homosexuality doesn’t pains me.

I don’t hate you. I just simply pity you.

If I’m your dad, I’ll just send you to the doctor to get your mental disorder fixed. Don’t see why you are so upset about this issue if you are not personally affected by it.

Are you afraid that children can be promoted to be gay? Let me tell you that gay children have been and have always been growing up in a heterosexual environment, heterosexual family, heterosexual school, heterosexual friends and yet they still turn gay.

Apparently, you are not very well-read and knowledgeable in this topic that you seemingly have such a strong opinion on.

Sometimes I wonder where does your hate for homosexuality came about. We would like to understand your view to come to understand you better.

You are the type of person who, say will send their aged parents to nursing home, just because they are old, senile, frail and lost touch of the world.

You are exactly just that. A heartless heterosexual. Is sex really such a big thing to you? Is sexual orientation such a big part of your life?

Are you aware that for many gay people, sexual orientation is only a very small part of their life. Sex is just a very small part of being a homosexual.

Please read up and find out more about this topic before you make yourself look more stupid than you already are.

ignorant 19 June 2011
@Thomas Lee

You are just a very ignorant person who do not really have much in depth knowledge about this topic which you seemingly have a very strong opinion on.

I suggest you educate yourself and find enlightenment in the process. After all, sex is just a very small part of a person.

Freak 19 June 2011
@Ang

LOL another homophobic heterosexual who assumed I’m a homosexual. I’m a straight woman who support the freedom to love and find your ignorance both offensive and disturbing.

I’m ashamed to be associated with you. You are the freak dear.

Thomas Lee 19 June 2011
To Aers:

I have never stated that “its “Best” for gays to acknowledge their homosexuality and seek medical treatment”.

What I said it is best to for them to realise that their homosexuality is a sexual disorder.

That’s a world of difference between what I said and why you claimed I said.

And contrary to what you said, it becomes my business when homosexuals move out from what they do in the privacy of their bedrooms and try to market their sexual disorder as being “normal” in the public arena.

Do it in your bedrooms and it is indeed none of my and the public’s business. Do it in the public arena and it becomes my and the public’s business to destroy the agenda that the homosexuals are pushing under the guise of fighting for “human rights”.

<>

Simple test to this. Put as many homosexuals as you want on an island all by themselves. Wait for one generation to pass to see whether they can reproduce themselves and pass on their genes or whether they will die out.

<>

What else would you call a flamboyant and garish gathering for the right to promote a group suffering from a sexual disorder that they demand to be recognised as “normal”?

theonlinecitizen 19 June 2011
‘Thomas’, stop astro-turfing to write under different pseudonyms. You ask ‘reasonable’ questions as ‘Thomas’ and make hateful comments as ‘Ang’.

Thomas Lee 19 June 2011
A lot of chest beating, foaming and frothing at the mouth about homophobia, hate, etc but nothing of substance from the homosexuals.

None of these homosexuals are able to disprove the obvious, i.e that they will die out and will not be able to pass on their genes if left on an island all by themselves.

The public must shed any fear of being labelled hateful, homophobic and destroy the idea that these homos are marketing to the young and impressionable, that their aberrant sexual behaviour and lifestyle choice is “genetic” and hence, should be considered “normal”.

Chris L 19 June 2011
@Thomas: What’s IS your pre-occupation with reproduction? Lessons we learnt from studying the history of the Earth is that no species last forever! Humans will become extinct one of these days. If not, over-population of humans will destroy the earth first. Then, there will be NO island for you to speak of.

Ha!

By the way, you call it a disorder, but we call it natural. Oh, and I do think your pre-occupation of GLBTs rather homophobic. To us, HOMOPHOBIA is a disorder too.

Why do I say that?

A recent study from the Department of Psychology at University of Georgia at Athens found that homophobic men are aroused by watching gay porn, while non-homophobic men are not.

OOOohhh … Hi Thomas

Thomas Lee 19 June 2011
To Chris L:

You can quote as many studies as you want to about sexual arousals, etc.

But it will not address the obvious, that homos cannot reproduce themselves and hence their sexual disorder is not genetically “normal”.

If you have a child who suffers from autism or who prefers sex with his pet dog, you will recognise it as abnormal and a disorder and seek medical treatment for the disorder.

Why must a sexual disorder like “homosexuality be deemed different when even other sexual disorders like sex addiction or sniffing used panties are deemed to be abnormal and medical treatment is deemed neccessary to treat the sexual disorder?

What’s so special about homosexuals that they must be deemed “normal” and be excused from medical treatment?

Lop 19 June 2011
Hey Thomas Lee

Who says homosexuals can’t reproduce? Didn’t you hear that the likes of Ted Haggard and Georgre Rekers all have kids?

And the things you said sounded awfully just like them. I bet you have kids or will have kids someday. But unfortunately does not make you less gay.

Thomas Lee 19 June 2011
To Lop:

I don’t have any interest in the private lives of homosexuals and don’t know who Ted Haggard or George Rykers are.

I will happily concede to homosexuals that their behaviour is a result of normal genes and their sexual disorder are actually normal if they can prove to me that they will be able to reproduce themselves in an island colony comprising of only homosexual men or in an island colony comprising of only homosexual women.

Aes 19 June 2011
To dear Thomas Lee
No you said “These homosexuals should seek psychiatric help for their personality and sexual disorders” so the crux of my argument still fits the bill

And your “simple experiment” is simply…sheer brilliance. In your previous post you stated that “if homosexuality is indeed “normal” and “genetic”, it would have died out a
long time ago as their genes cannot be passed on.” and then your proposed the island experiment to justify your statement. Well let’s try this: place infertile individuals on an island and see if they can reproduce to pass down alleles coding for infertility…yet it’s clear as daylight that there are still many suffering from infertility today now is there? Seriously do you even know the fundamental basis of your experiment..

and just in case you try to toy with semantics, when people term homosexuality as genetically normal, they are specifically referring to the inheritance of that gene as being a natural process, just like how we have people of varying heights. Being extremely tall doesn’t mean you are ABNORMAL, it is just that the frequency of expressing that particular phenotype is extremely low.

now you can go run along on your personal vendetta against the campaign for gay rights. Please don’t drag “the public” into this. Like-minded individuals + you =/= public.

chin K 19 June 2011
Having to prove ourselves is as ludicrous as demanding heterosexual men to prove that they are not gay should a group of them be stranded on an island. But do consider this, if there is no food on the island, humankind have been known to eat their own for survival and that is not a pretty picture.
Also, recognising the self-interst that is human nature, after quarrels, disputes, fights, wars, genocide, total oblivion, the Earth still goes on, the land teeming back grass and trees and ushering a new era of life. We would be vain indeed to think we are all that matters to nature.

Chris L 19 June 2011
Thomas Lee said: What’s so special about homosexuals that they must be deemed “normal” and be excused from medical treatment?

Medical treatment ah? You live in Singapore right? You go to IMH and ask the doctor got medical treatment for curing the gay in you or not lah.

You know what he will tell you to do? “Go home, don’t waste my time” is what he will tell you.

You know why? Cuz in Singapore, homosexuality is NOT a mental nor is it a physical illness. I didn’t decide on this. The MOH decided on it.

So .. what are you gonna do about it? Thomas – you can’t cure the gay in you. Please be at peace with yourself… :p

Blah 19 June 2011
To Thomas Lee

Well, let’s take your experiment to another level shall we? Let’s have an island where there are only men (heterosexual and homosexual) and no women. There would be no reproduction as well… there are only men, so it is obvious that “they will die out and will not be able to pass on their genes if left on an island all by themselves”.

Subsequently, by your logic all the men should accept the fact that being male is part and parcel of being hapless, hopeless victims of a “sexual disorder”. You probably would suggest that they ask for psychological treatment and therefore change their sex or something no?

Lawrence 19 June 2011
It’s fascinating to hear when something is labeled a “disorder”. Did you know that naughty kids these days can be diagnosed as having “oppositional defiant disorder” or “conduct disorder” by psychiatrists? And of course, it comes with some medication to “fix” the kid.

And past generations of Singaporeans probably never heard of ADHD/ADD and autism. Back then such kids were labeled as naughty or weird.

So the point is, medical science isn’t always useful or helpful. Yes, it’s a “science” because it is rational — and many other non-sciences can be helpful too, eg. TCM, religious faith, self-confidence.

Science is a tool for humanity, let’s not use it to judge or destroy ourselves.

La 19 June 2011

Disagree. Science is useful in this instance because it allows us finer-grained labels than “naughty” or “weird” to explain their behaviour. Whether it is helpful to do so is another issue (although I would say, yes).

Tough Mom of Gay Son 19 June 2011
I think the wholesomeness of Pink Dot is in a way a sort of Protest against the past slutiness of Singapore’s gay activists who promoted gay saunas and gay hook up web sites in stead of having an intelligent way to bridge out to straight people. More straight people showed up cause Pink Dot is family oriented and wholesome. Don’t take this sacred trust for granted. Parents are tired of gay activists like Alex Au who want to turn Pink Dot into the Folsom Street Fair. Glad he stayed far in the background otherwise no straight people would come. He’s the kind of person no one likes whether gay or straight, I think he watches the Human Centipede a lot when no one is watching. Hurray for gay wholesomeness.
