SINGAPORE, Jan 7 — Celebrity chef Joel Robuchon, who runs a top dining establishment in Hong Kong, is betting on a successful move to Singapore by opening three restaurants in a new casino resort this year.

Parisian Robuchon is the most Michelin-decorated chef in the world, with 25 stars across his 20 restaurants. He will be bringing his French haute cuisine in May to Genting Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa, which will feature a casino, hotels and a Universal Studios theme park.

“I am confident that the cuisine, style and concept of the Joel Robuchon restaurants will maintain their true authenticity and will not be compromised in Resorts World,” Robuchon said in a statement.

L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Hong Kong was voted the region’s top restaurant in the 2009/2010 Miele gourmet food guide to Asia, and features signature dishes such as free-range quail stuffed with foie gras.

Four Michelin-starred chef Kunio Tokuoka will also debut a restaurant at the casino resort, which will start opening this month with four hotels.

Singapore is banking on two new casino resorts opening this year to attract tourists. A series of new malls, luxury stores and gourmet restaurants have also been opening in the city-state, home to the highest density of millionaires in the world.
