Anyone has experience on the Cayenne Hybrid? Comes with 9 years warranty for the car and 6 years warranty for the battery. Any disadvantage compared with a non-hybrid model or anything to look out for?

Froggy... get a Lexus you won't look back.

A warranty may save you money on repairs but it does nothing for the frustration of having to put up with niggling problems caused by poor reliability.

People want cars that start every morning and run on a daily basis with no rattles, no squeaks, no leaks, no strange intermittent problems etc.

And it Thailand, the most important issue is how good the aircon is. I have never had any joy with continental cars. The air con is cool but not icy cold like the way the Japs can do it.

I was eyeing the Macan. I've decided on the NX when the time is right.

Thank you boss for the comment. Afternoon was bloody hot like 38-39 degC. When I got into my GS which was park under the sun for 4 hours it took only a short while to get the interior of the car to be cool. Evening I got into a 528, you are right it took quite a while to be cool and feel stuffy too. Looks like it'd be a good wait for the next RX to be available next year. In the mean time the Revo looks interesting.

panamera and 911 are true pedigree of porsche. macan, cayenne and all that shit are glorified volkswagen innards with luxury chassis to address the hot suv market in north america first, then sell them to other cuntries. i look at a cayenne owner as basically a tuareg owner paying a higher price for basically the same vehicle with an attas badge.

Japanese cars just doesn't have the same sensation as German ones. Its that feeling of solidity and confidence.

I've driven a German car and I've never felt confident. I'm always wondering when the engine is going to cut out on me, when the auto gearbox is going to take on a life of its own and when it is going to end up sitting in a workshop for a couple of weeks while waiting for out of stock parts.

The "solidity" factor is a myth too. It might have been true in the 70s and 80s but I can challenge anyone to be able to actually distinguish a German car from a Lexus, Infinity etc in this day and age. I had a test drive of the new Hyundai Genesis a couple of months back and I couldn't believe I was driving a Korean car. It was way better than the Beemer I used to own.

To be honest, all cars feel rather detached from the road nowadays because the steering is by wire. There is no longer a direct mechanical link between the wheels on the road and the one you hold to steer. The steering is electronic and can be programmed in any number of ways.

Ya lots of setting are done electronically these days, like the GS if want higher torque feel turn the knob to Sport, if want it more sporty then turn it to Sports+ and the suspension will be harder.
