The man who drove his old Mercedes-Benz past the Woodlands Checkpoint on Saturday managed to do so because a security barrier meant to stop unauthorised cars from leaving the checkpoint was ineffective.

It was the first time the barrier failed to stop a car, said the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) on Sunday ...

Govt depts all same same. They deal with routine matters. Made to look good through self praise and press reports. But once tested on non-routine matters, the truth emerges. Good to see only. I worry if the SAF have to go to war. Hope it wont happen while I am alive.

yes there is a smashing of window at 17sec to 18sec.
you can see something whipped out just before the merc zoom off
this footage is not clear enough because it is taken from camera phone pointed at lcd monitor.
the master copy should be clear enough for zoom in.

the video is taken using camera phone on the lcd monitor.the hand is shaky.
the voices are those in the command center.
video is taken on playback recording because we can see the bottom right there is a calendar date to choose from.
noticed the investigator tell the operators: " ok, play here " during the first second recording "

Yes in those hours he was free, he must have disposed whatever contraband he might have. Could have been drugs, cigarettes, weapons,.....or whatever. Wonder what the authorities will charge him with since they have no evidence of what was smuggling

Minister have absolutely impunity from even the gravest mismanagement threatening national security. At most, TCH will head anothet ministry, they have no worries to worry about completely. Just punished checkpoint traveller by holding up security checks by venting their anger from public criticism..

Actually, the "smart pose"' looks more like someone trying to beat up a tied dog; it reminds me of the video of the LTC in Pasir Ris Camp beating up a tied up dog.

actually in little india, they were turning the vehicle upside down to check if there was anymore person trapped under them, just in case.

these are very honorable voluntary action of search and rescue tat command our upmost respect, we should send them home for early retirement with a cash bonus of $10 million each.
