Conspicuous consumption boosts our sense of identity and also conveys status and importance. In land-scarce S'pore, the less affluent have to make way for the wealthy; nowhere is this more clearly apparent than in car ownership. Car owners are perceived as wealthier and having membership to a higher social status group - not just to others, but also to themselves. We have approached the day when only top earners would be able to possess cars. This will, in fact, make car ownership even more attractive to those who can afford it.

I think it's the Tiong EV car sales which are soaring. The rest of car brands mostly drop already.

BYD? Yeah their technology wins hands down these days
Not just BYD, I saw many other Tiong brands EV like ZEEKR and XPENG, all looks damn chio and futuristic.

But the problem with EVs is the high road tax and insurance besides the cumbersome part of charging and of course the lack of range.

If Gov is insincere in EV adoption, they should reduce the COE for EVs by 50%, then EVs are more worth having.

Car prices in SG are highly inflated. Theoretically no one should buy a car which will cost less than its COE.

That’s why we need to weed out the losers PHV
One tiny blue sticker stigma tag is not enough
Need to be done up like a taxi

It's even better inside. Unlike Tesla. Look mundane inside and out

I saw this Zeekr parked beside my car at Oasis Terraces Mall basement CP, looks damn chio and futuristic..:

Pricing is also reasonable with good reviews: https://www.sgcarmart.com/new-cars/info/21900/zeekr-x-electric
