The flight was budget, and so was the terminal.

But holidaymaker Amanda Goh ended up with a parking bill that was sky-high.

The housewife paid $300 after leaving her car at Changi Airport for more than four days.

Her hefty bill was due to the fact that she had parked at the Budget Terminal. Unlike at the other three terminals, there is no $20 cap on charges.

i tot before you went in, there will be a notice showing the charges beside the barrier?

Anything but Budget! In a word, it's called profiteering. For $300 one can laze around in Turi Beach with change to spare!

Reminds me of an old joke. A guy drove a Merz to a OUB WTC and offered his Merz as collateral for a loan. Whatever interest rate, no problem. The bank manager verified that his car had already been paid up and agreed to the loan. The guy collected his cash loan and left his car with the bank and took a ferry to Batam to enjoy for a few days and came back to redeem his car in full cash plus interest. The bank manager was curious, asking, it was only a few days and the guy obviously had more than enough money, why made the loan? The guy replied, your interest is cheaper than the parking charge.

stupid charbo. even if have the $20 cap, the $20 cap is for per day only. means that she has to pay $80 for the 4 days even with the $20 cap per day. if $80 why not take cab? both ways cab fare also lesser than $80.

there are smart people who 'pawn' their valuables for a minimum sum.....they treat the pawnshops as safe deposit boxes for safekeeping....interests cheaper than actual safe deposit boxes

In PAP Spore it's now very rare to find Free parking

All the gov't has to do is paint lines on the road & put up a sign & voila, no more free parking.

I see this as very serious and blantant cheating, if all other terminals comes under the same airport management.

Here you are trying to fool those unsuspecting public and capitalise on their assumption.

It's like you charge 10 cents per entry to toilets in a shopping centre and one of them you put up a sign and says $5 per entry. How many will be caught?

This reminds me of a time I bought 2 packets of econmical rice. The signboard says 1 meat 2 vegs for $2.70 and 2 meat 1 veg for ... etc There are no other signs besides the dishes.

So, when I bought 2 packets of 1 meat 2 vegs, I was charged $8.60. I asked the Malaysian server why?, and his replies... oh, for this meat it is $2 and is not part of the standard package, so the price is $2 for 2x80cents for vegs and 70cents for rice. You see so everything becomes alacart price as well. That's cheating.

The Changi Airport Group is out to make money, money, money just like their beloved leaders.

So nothing is free in this "squeaky-clean" tiny island of 4 million people with 80 over constituencies, where leaders are paid millions to preside over such a small population. I wonder Bintan has how many constituencies.

The Airport Group dare to call it a Budget terminal. They are thick-skinned and they stink. They should called it the Bizarre terminal or Ridiculous Terminal.

Anyway, we all know their true motive.

VIPS are given free lots everywhere (in airport and everywhere). They are more equal then others.

The "normal citizens" are always screwed in this small nation of 4 million people with the highest paid "so-called leaders".

Why can't the CAG (Changi Airport Group) make a scheme whereby people can park for a few days and fly to neighbouring countries for a couple of days. Away from these nation which offers nothing but stress, stress and more stress.

Maybe this is the reason why the people are loosing interest in them and their style. They are like the proverbial saying, "drowning men clutching at the straws"

I just cannot bear to be part of these system, though I lov this Nation most.

Maybe a visitby CAG top guns to Indonesian, Malaysian, Indian, Chinese and Thai airports will give them a better idea instead of relying the Heathrow Experience.

another stupid sinkie woman. don't ppl check before parking their cars?

If I remember correctly, the Budget Terminal was set up when AirAsia and budget flights were all the rage.

AirAsia wanted landing rights in Singapore, but the government said 'No', and shortly after that Tiger Airways was established.

Retarded. Isn't this like those morons who paid thousands for surfing Facebook or watching YouTube with their iPhones in other countries?
