Khaw Boon Wan should make a statement on his early comments about the Brompton affair and at the same time, provide an update on AIMgate.
We should not be wasting time in parliament to make announcements of this nature.

Brompton bikes investigation ends

THE Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) has completed its probe into the purchase of 26 Brompton bikes by the National Parks Board (NParks) last year.

The case is now before the public prosecutor 'for assessment and determination of whether there is any offence disclosed', said Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean. He was responding to Non-Constituency MP Lina Chiam, who had asked for the status of the CPIB investigations.

The hefty $2,200 price tag for each bike led to a public outcry.

The NParks officer involved was suspended and investigated by the CPIB for possible breaches.

Mr Teo said the CPIB investigated the case after an internal audit found 'possible indications of corruption of procurement'.
