Exactly. Well said Joe. They know their price point and they are not looking at volumes or popularity. In essence, they sell less and make more profit because of the higher piece. In simple term, it called branding. When you visit friends and family, they want to see the package and that you paid the high price.

We can say boycott boycott boycott but they still 高高在上。

For those who like those small breads with meat floss etc, if you happen to be in the Kranji/Woodland area, the bakery store at the Kranji MRT station is selling them cheaper.

However do take note that the prices being displayed are higher than what you actually pay at the cashier. The store must have some sort of agreement from the supplier to sell at a minimum price

This MRT station is a popular stop for those arriving & going to JB & it's cheaper to get these breads in JB. So for any bizniss in Spore to compete, their prices must be similar to JB prices.

Everytime you walk past a Breadtalk shop, the overwhelming sweet smell comes out, notice they sell a lot of sweet stuff. Even the ones with savoury toppings have sweet tasting bread, that's why no Angmo buys their breads! Another thing that not many people know is that to cut corner, save money & time, those commercial large scale bakeries pump air into the dough to get a soft risen texture, traditionally this is done with yeast & it can take up to 1 whole day to proof the dough before it is baked & you get that nice floury bread taste. And of course they don't list "air" as an ingredient, they just weigh the pumped up dough to 400g or 800g & bake it & that's how you get your 400g or 800g loaf of soft white bread. This gives another meaning to Jiak Hong

i no fan of pappy so i try not to patron shops or stores operated by pappy supporters. any food stalls that display pictures the stall operator took with pappy jialiaobee confirm wont get any business from me no matter how nice and cheap the food is.
