A teenager let off with a 12-month warning for having sex with a minor yesterday admitted having sex with another underage girl less than two months later, as reported by The Straits Times.
Muhammad Nor Aszroy Zaidon, 16, was warned by police on May 30 last year not to commit any offence within 12 months or he would be liable to be prosecuted for having sex with a 12-year-old and any subsequent offences.
But in July, he had sex with a 13-year-old whom he also befriended on a social network site.
He pleaded guilty in a community court to two of four charges – having sex with the 12-year-old and the 13-year-old at Housing Board staircase landings.
The other two similar charges relating to the older girl will be taken into consideration during sentencing. Deputy Public Prosecutor Wynn Wong Diwei said Nor got to know the 12-year-old on Facebook around September 2011.
Sometime in October that year she followed him to an unknown block in Clementi, where he had sex with her at a staircase landing which he knew was secluded.
He then took the girl to the nearest bus stop and did not contact her again.
Shortly after the conditional warning, he befriended the second victim on Facebook last June.
Sometime in July, he took her to his home in Teck Whye Lane to meet his mother, then took her to the 13th-level staircase landing and had sex with her.
The victim had initially refused as she was still a virgin but eventually relented.
Nor, who was unrepresented, said he hoped the court would place him on probation.
The judge postponed sentencing to March 25 pending pre-sentence and RTC reports.
