BANGKOK THIS MORNING - 19degC

Is that the old Don Muang airport?

Whenever I use that airport in the old days I noticed the old and incomplete pillars, extensions to the expressways??

I often wonder why they never finished what they were building. Do you know anything about why construction was stopped:confused:

Usual stuff in thailand, if u look around, alot of things are done halfway.

Hi joetys so you have migrated to thailand?

Is your wife a thai?

thailand does have its charms but so does sinkieland.

We are both Singaporeans or rather sinkies. Here on work permit but guess will be here for a long long haul cause the office and factory is here should be here on a permanent basis.

It's been there for years perhaps 15 year? Never completed originally planned as an elevated railway system. Due to corruption it's been like this. Mind you what you see actually stretches kilometers after kilometers both ways. It will be very costly to demolish them as it's extra hard and extra reinforced concrete structures. Cheaper to leave them alone.

There are many more of this type of cases here in Bangkok.

By the way many Thais call this in front of Don Maeung Airport their own Thai Stonehenge.

Yes I notice some unfinished projects. There's one at Sukhumvit almost next to the Landmark Hotel & the MTR station. It's a skeleton of a incomplete building. I was surprised because it must be a valuable$$ piece of property.

Someone must have seen it's worth because I heard that the eyesore has been recently demolished & that they are working on this site.
