Athletes risk fines for early return from YOG
August 22nd, 2010 | Author: Your Correspondent

In return for the all inclusive package offered to participants at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, athletes and trainers are expected to participate in all of the arranged festivities and cultural arrangements throughout the YOG’s 12 days. Failing to do so will leave the NOCs with a bill for the board, lodging and travel.

If an athlete or a manager participating at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games fails to show up at an event or decides to leave Singapore when his or her competition is over, the bill for this person’s stay at the Youth Olympic Village will be sent to the relevant NOC.

stinkapore is a fine city, and this will surely make it memorable for all the visitors. free all expenses paid lodging is factually just a collatoral. in layman terms, its called "entrapment"

it obvious where the 380mil gone to.

They were paid allowances for doing shopping in Singapore, and the tourist board boasted that they spend tens of millions in sg. The truth is, they were paid allowances to do free shopping.

their nations can afford to feed & cloth their athletes from childhood until they come of age. whatever accommodations & all that crap is small change to the nations. if SYOGOC issue the bill to china, Mr Hu will laugh until jaw dislocate.

This remind me on reservist days when you are made to pay for the meals if you do not comsume them.
