Singapore cannot participate in Asian Champions League because we have Foreign Teams in League. That is what AFC said. Fine, valid point and very ideal to develope domestic league.

But then, why is Australia a member of ASIA Football Confederation? Which freaking geography or history book or atlas says that Australia is part of Asia?

You go and ask those Aussies, see whether anyone will thinks they are part of Asia or not?

If Australia is NOT part of Asia, why did the AFC allow Australia to join AFC? Well, their answer is: to have a stronger competititor for top Asian Team ton increase the standard of soccer in Asia. Fine, that is also correct!!

Then freaking AFC allow a non-Asian Team to play in AFC competitions, yet they discourage member countries to have Foreign Teams in their League? What kind of freaking double standard is that? Which old fools sits in AFC Main Committee anyway??

I think FIFA should disallow Asian Teams to play in the World Cup, unless it does not have any non-Asian Teams. Fair??

Australia used to be part of the Oceania Confederation but the problem is that they will qualify tops of their group every time there was a qualifying phase. To top it off, Oz will beat teams like American Samoan Islands 31-0. The Ozzie team was playing without their top stars like MArk Viduka, Josh Kennedy or Harry Kewell or Tim Cahill. It was almost ridiculous to have a heavy weight pounding and killing these other small teams.

Oceania is a joke. FIFA should merge all of so-called Oceania countries into the Asian zone for World Cup. Now that's national team matter, but in the case of S-League, it's club matter. Is a club local or foreign by origin? I also think it doesn't matter. Arsenal can relocate from London to Paris and should still be eligible play in ECL.

Anyway, sometimes politics override geographics. Israel plays in the Europe zone as playing in the geographically correct Asia zone frequently risked sparkling off WW3.

given S-league's standard, i rather they don't participate so as not to embarass themselves.

small countries like singapore should be allow to participate....if foreign team win the league they should not be allow to participate in the asian champ league...their slot would be given to the next highest local club....

Cannot participate and not fit to participate are two separate issues. We are neither good enough nor qualify...

I presume you do not follow local soccer?

Over the last 3 years, Singapore qualified for the ACL by beating teams from Thailand, Vietnam and Indoensia. In fact last year, SAF FC beat one China Team at home and drew at away, during the Group Stage.
