It doesn't work that way for me. I don't chat with the masses. I only send messages to people who matter to me. Those on my preferred contact list have all installed telegram in order to receive and respond to my messages.

Don't be a sinkie sheep and just follow the crowd. Telegram is far more secure.

By the way , telegram does not feature h/phone numbers so if you do mass chat eg with other owners of your condo then you would have to get their numbers individually if you want to talk to just a few of them.

Nothing is 100% secure but I did a bit of research and I have to conclude that anything which is encrypted has to be more secure than a message that isn't encrypted.
