its to do with the deforestation of singapore. it was recently reported that the average temperature difference between urban areas like town and forested ones like lim chu kang, has risen from an average difference of 3 deg to 7 deg in recent decades.

currently 29% of singapore is forested. masterplan 2030 will reduce it to 9%. in order to accomodate the 7m-10m figure that is being thrown around by the press.

vote wisely.

Definitely hotter now than say 30 years ago. When I was young, we can play football at 1 pm. Nobody does that today. Plus buses were non air on and was still bearable even in a jam. Try that today and people will die of heat stroke and suffocation.

Wow, your memory is very good, I had completely forgotten about this tv series until now.

It seems that in the past, follically challenged male actors could still play the leading role in tv series. :D

Last month, I also increased my showers/baths from 2X to 4X. No use at all. No difference at all. So now, go back to 2X shower.

Just try not to go outside so much in the day time. Except for air-con shopping malls. But a/c shopping malls can be uncomfortably warm, too. Their a/c systems cannot cope with the heat.

You are right, all the people's skins have turn crispy black black. Like overdone toast, Soon, it will be hard to tell the local Sinkies from the Bangladeshi workers. All look the same black black.

It is probably due to global warming.

For example, the day time high in Toronto on May 1, 2013, was 21C, whereas it was about 12C in the morning, and our children wore shorts and polo shirt to school.

I recall that there were a few days in March 2012 (yes last year), we were wearing shorts and golf shirts because it was a record high of about 23C.

I remember that when I was growing up in SG, it was not as hot, compared to my visit to SG in April / May 2012, which I felt was very hot and humid.

Even in Toronto, when I arrived some 30 plus years ago, May and early June (spring) was pleasant, but in the recent years, it can be very hot, in the mid to high 20's C.
In recent years, we have had more than 2 weeks of heat wave a year, with day time high of mid 30's C in July and Aug. It is unbearable when the humidity is high, making it feels like close to 40C.

Water is cheap in mudlasia. Can bathe 10 times a day. I remember i left the tap running the whole night for one time cause I had to rush for my daily dose of aljazeera news. The bill came up to only 10 sg bucks that month.

me reckon due to hot air emitted by ministers recently. temp dropped one to two degrees after 2011 elections n subsequent bes

Only $30 bucks per month? What type of air-con are you using? Lol

the deforestation of singapore also played a part in raising average temperatures. we can't just blame global warming alone for local climatic conditions.
