Sugar free juices and sweets. Can they really be sugar free? Coke zero claims no sugar too.

When they say sugar free in juices, they mean no additional sugar was added to the juices and not that the juices contain no sugar.

http://aspartame.mercola.com/

Aspartame is, by Far, the Most Dangerous Substance on the Market that is Added To Foods

It hides behind brand names such as NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure, but its makers cannot conceal that it accounts for 75 percent of adverse reactions to food additives reported...

Agree. Is human made chemical sugar. More dangerous than real natural sugar made from sugar cane or sugar beat.
Product that said sugar free is that they not using natural sugar they use human made sugar(chemical >>> if not product will not be sweet).

The Aspartame industry is just like the Nicotine industry - They are mutti billion dollars industries that no one (from doctors to politicians) will dare to confront.

Then shouldn't these artificial sugar at least tastes like the real thing? Bad effects not withstanding....i mean coke zero really tastes like fuck.....supposedly without the sugar.

those diabetics are blissfully ignorant of aspartame.....................sigh................

it actually gives people diabetes.....................

STEVIA is available here or online.................it's the sweetener to buy

A lot of people cannot take sugar due to medical reasons such as diabetes etc. They therefore take substitutes which are called sweeteners which provides sweetness and allow them to enjoy a wider range of foodstuff. No added sugar means no additional sugar was put into the juice and it will taste not as sweet.

All sweeteners must be approved by FDA since 1958. Despite all claims from many fronts, no scientific evidence has been provided to the FDA to reverse their decision over 50 years or half a century. And there have been numerous studies.

I think there are about 3 well known sweeteners approved, maybe more and like many things in the natural food category some cannot be taken by some for allergy reason. No different to some people who cannot take shellfish, prawns etc.

All in all, sweeteners have made life much more easier for a number of us. I am sure all of us would like to have things that are natural but for various reasons cannot.

I too was a skeptic until friends in the medical line said otherwise.

The ultimate is not to be held hostage by sweeteners including sugar like having beverages with no sugar or sweeteners. Kopi-O, Kopi-Si

Most of the food and beverage we consume today already contains HFCS anyway - high fructose corn syrup. Or its derivatives, not pure sugar. So we are dead anyway.

The fruits itself already contain Sucrose, fruit sugars, how can you be getting a sugar free juices, as for the rest, sugar is still present. What they are claiming is that they uses more artificial sweeteners.

I reacted to Aspartame, when I first encountered it, one of the side effects of this sweetener, I felt that I was 'stoned' or 'high' for few hours until the sweetener had been used up by the body. Since then, I avoid anything that has artificial sweetener.

Here are list of natural sugars : http://www.dansukker.co.uk/uk/about-sugar/types-of-sugar.aspx and sugar substitute : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_substitute

Anyway anything we consume, we have to take in moderation & careful consideration, especially man made products.

the evidence is right in front of my eyes everyday when i see americans getting addicted to, getting fatter by the day, and finding it difficult to wean off dependency on "diet" and "sugar-free" beverage products. either the fda has been fooled or the american public has been taken in by both the fda and the huge f&b industry in the u.s.

eversince the fda approved aspartame, americans have been getting sicker, nastier and more obese, not healthier and happier. the other sick artificial sweetener that they have approved is sucralose. granted, diabetic persons cannot enjoy naturally occuring fructose (by the way, fruit and other natural products have traces of fructose, and not just sucrose) in their diets, the best and safest sweetener, imo, is stevia. you'll see a lot of stevia coming onto shelves.

agave, from the cactus that produces natural sugar, is extremely high in fructose and should be avoided. a lot of seniors in the u.s. select this sugar alternative but are fooled by "health food" stores promoting this product.

since i'm not diabetic, i rely on locally produced wild honey and molasses to sweeten my beverage. even with a little fructose content, the benefits of naturally produced sweeteners, except agave, outweigh the negatives.

always read up yourself from several sites with reputable readers' feedback. never trust the fda, webmd, and industry sources at face value. they are either in cahoots or have armies of attorneys poring through cyber language to ensure americans continue to be mesmerized.

hi there

1. guys, hope that this will help too.

"Sugar-Free does mean what it says. It does not contain any added sugar or natural sugars. It may contain artificial sweeteners, but not sugar. Now “No Sugar Added” is a little different story. This means that no more sugar is added to the product, but probably contains natural sugars. An example, is “No Sugar Added Apple Pie”. Apples naturally have sugar, but in making the actually pie, there was no more sugar added to it. But will probably be made with artificial sugar products."

2. now, how about "no added sugar" then?
3. anyone?:D

I dont think so. What they mean is the natural sugar content has been replaced by artificial sweeteners

Aspartame was pushed through by 9/11 traitor..........Donald Rumsfeld..........this jew was CEO of Searle that created aspartame........

even the company's own scientists have protested against its introduction into the food market........

aspartame was approved by the fda in 1974, the year that americans started to become whales. the fda amended the ruling in 2006 to include sucralose. much of sucralose don't break down in the body when ingested.

I would ignore the conspiracy theorists, hoping win arguments by throw in the word zionists or jewish here and there.

We drink juice from cartons because its convenient and not its good for us. Manufacturers especially our local ones such as FruitTree, Marigolds put it weasel words to think its healthy. The juices are from concentrate, they make it sweeter just by making it more concentrated. Another way is to add in other juices like cheap grape juices. Which is why they call it Orange Juice Drink and not Pure Orange Juice. Those premier and more expensive brands like Florida state exactly what their juices contain, pure juice, not from concentrate.

Sugar is constantly being added into supermarket juices, yogurt included. Their ingredient labels state those with the highest content first, you'll find sucrose right on top.

Take a look at contents for evaporated milk. This is supposed to be milk with excess water removed. Now it contains palm oil and renamed as coffee creamer. Nestle brand even contains HFCS (high fruitose corn syrup) in their Coffeemate brand.

We are really fucked as human race. 30 years ago, Mats are mostly slim. We joked then it because they only eat rice and belacan. Now they gorge on what 7-11 sells at their neighborhood. They love sugars (compensation for alcohol free lifestyle) and maybe the first race to see drastic declines in population due to obesity mortality.

I don't know why parents indulge their children, running around like monkeys grabbing all the chips and crisps at supermakets. Comfort food is McDonalds with upsized meals and deep frieds chips, battered chickens and fish with mayonnaise and cheese. We'll soon be having ambulance crews during platoon trainings and plus size tanks for fatties.
