Are local taxi death trap?

For the past couple of years, singapore roads had been experiencing the taxi burst into flame with no apparent warning. until now, LTA, taxi companies and most important of all, taxi manufacturers, has not come out to address the problem or given any reasons why the taxi caught fire while on the road. Diesel engine is suppose to be able to drive 24/7, as long the radiator has cooler, the engine should not overheat. Now it not just simply engine overheat but the taxi catch fire.

I think the taxi companies do their own maintenance, so maybe manufacturers say not their problem anymore.....

if it the maintenance issue, the more the manufacturers shd come out to say it not their fault but the taxi maintenance division fault. As a consumer, i will take note of the quality of the manufacturer finished products. The diesel engine of the taxi are also being use for the brand other vehicles, such as the vans and trucks. If the hyundai diesel engine taxi keep catching fire, then i wont buy hyundai vans or trucks if i am a transport company towkay.

govt ambulances are from conti brands. only ah nehs can torch them.

Taxi company are the one who do the maintenance. I think taxi compant also cut corner like MRT in maintenance.
Maintenance are mostly done by FT from India/Bangla/Pinoy.

i know a new car/taxi have at maybe first 2 year of free servicing at their workshop
