just had makan with my li'l brother leetahsar and one of his jungle pal who was in tree conservation around the world. he was more like a tarzan with the mission to save virgin forests and trees. what was revealed from him came to us as a shock.

he said that no matter how cheap fruits that are imported from china is, try to avoid it cos PRC being avaricious prc would spike their fruits with the most toxic chemicals to give a false impression of perfect fruit. so consume at your own risk!

what do u guys think? china fruits safe or not to eat? come to think of it, their oranges appear to be more orangey than the usual sunkist. chemically spiked??

leetahsar's pal is misinformed! not only China produce should be avoided, any product that comes from that country is dangerous, no doubt cheap. for nearly 5 years[b4 tinted milk] i refused to put anything thats from China in my mouth; there are times i without knowing, eat their foodstuff, these days i always ask B4 buying/eating, because i only have one life.

It's not just a China issue. Greed in the agriculture business fucks everything up.

wow piangz! look like everything also cannot eat! all poisoned!!

i know nice looking durians especially those branded one and priced very expensively are laden with systemic poison. it looks perfect and it's puzzling why there isn't any sign of insects or even teeth marks from squirrels. no wonder now if eat too many of those durians can get diarrhoea.

our gov should allocate some space for us to grow our own veggies. it such a waste that many available areas which are being landscaped are plain white elephants.

The only safe and best Chinese food to eat is dog meat. It's pure natural bred and fed. Too bad, it's banned from export to Singapore. You'll have to go to China to taste it for yourself. It's not dishnamed fragrant meat (香肉) for nothing. No additives or chemicals required. Even 济公 and 黄飞鸿 were famous dog meat eaters.

The Koreans and Vietnamese learned it quick from Chinese centuries ago too. But dogs are intelligent animals, shrewder than foxes. They realized they're delicious to humans and was quick to decide to work for humans guarding gates instead of ending up cooked and served on dinner tables.

Unfortunately, yes. Chemical fertilizers, pesticide and many other addictive are added for higher crop yield and shorter ripening time. Not just China. Almost all any food producing countries does that, only to what extent. There are laws on the usage of chemicals/addictive in crop production but not easy to enforce.

I can't say for sure whether certain foodstuff from PRC are safe or not, but given their reputation, I would select something else from another country. When is Sg, we buy the locally grown veggies.

Cheers!

2 other commonly use addictive are:

Preservatives and Colorings. In the past, I did tried experimenting growing veggies without additional chemical related stuff. For personal consumption, yes. For sale, no, cos' no one will buy. Crop much smaller and lighter, less leaves, color is much pale. How to fight with my neighbors' chemical added huge and green veggies?

Yum. Yum. Sssssslurp. Sssssssslurp. Can only salivate and dream about the xiang rou.

Well, example new year is coming, i was looking at what chocolate to buy.The first thing came into my mind was, try to avoid Make In China Chocolate.I will always buy make in Australia, U.K or U.SA... or any european countries except China.Indonesia and Thailand, i might consider. But my first choice for diary products will always be the western countries.Because i trust them.As for China, i dont trust their government. So, i dont trust they will check carefully for their products. And also, given that money is higher then moral in China now, can i still trust their food to be clean of chemical???Or worst, fake foods?Yes, our government enforce a very strict rules on food importing into our country. But, remember this, not all food will be check 100%.Some might just get into our market.
Also, even if our food safety officers check and prove they are eatable, that only just prove that the food doesnt contain any dangerous stuff inside. But that doenst mean the foods wont contain any chemical that might stay in our body. They might not have as much vitamin or natural vitamin as the western countries.Maybe wont die but who knows the chemical might just stay inside our body???

China become like this and whose fault is that?Beside Mao Zhedong and the Communist gangs now ruling China, i really don't know who else can i point my finger at now!!!

Just watch this video and you will know why i suggest try to avoid Make in China food.Even their education can make fake. What else can they don't make fake? They don't even have pride for their own product, i dont think they will care for your life.Money to them is number one now!!!

This is PRC China.' The Peopl'es Republic Of Cheating!!! '

Nowadays more people understand the advantages of organically grown produce. The problem with eating organic is the cost:(

in fact even our closest neighbour matland is also adding poisons into our foodstuffs. poisons which sg authority deem "safe for consumption". "safe" is jus a consolating word. if the fruits/veggies are consumed daily, then how safe is "safe"? let's take durians for example which is the favorite among singporeans. expensive it may be, it seems that durians are available almost throughout the year. the durians that we have now is so much different for the durians that we had before. the present ones look very perfect - no holes, no insects. those b4, we sometimes found borers into the thick husk of the fruit and even worms inside the seed. miraculously, it's a very rare sight now. how could that be? if it's by prudent management of the farm ,i.e, through pesticides free control, that would be worth all the money consumers paid for the fruit. however, if it's an abuse of toxic chemicals applications, then it would such a wicked deed. consumers are actually paying for a slow-release toxic to kill themselves :(

ongans are from thailand. heard that they "bleach" the fruits so that the skins appear smooth and more aesthetic. it would be prudent to wash longans thoroughly first b4 biting into the fruit to remove the skin. same goes for lychees.
