A full-time National Serviceman (NSF) is currently in critical condition after being involved in a jeep accident early Friday morning.
3rd Sergeant (3SG) Tan Mou Sheng, 20, was in a scout jeep with a few other servicemen when the driver of the jeep lost control of the vehicle.
This happened at the Marsiling training area at 6.50am, Mindef said in a press release.
3SG Tan lost consciousness and a medic tried to resuscitate him. He was then sent to the medical centre in Nee Soon Camp Medical Centre, where a doctor attended to him.
3SG Tan was then send to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), where he is in critical condition.
Another NSF, 3SG Hong Dickson, 20, also sustained injuries in the early morning incident. He had a laceration to his right leg and was discharged after receiving outpatient treatment at KTPH.
Both Tan and Hong are 3rd Sergeants from the School of Military Intelligence. The driver and one other serviceman who were also in the vehicle at the time escaped unscathed.
The SAF is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
