Nope who says animals have equal rights? If they had a tiger wouldnt' have the right to kill a deer. The rights are dictated by the animals themselves. If you asked a deer it probably thinks a tiger doesn't have the right to kill it. If you even care to notice all the rights have been dictated by humans cos other animals are incapable of spelling them out. If let's assume elephants suddenly had human intelligence one day. They would dictate to humans no killing of elephants and then go to war with humans.
