There is a great lapse and mystery in Yawgate.
Some believe that the CEC has put a gag order on everyone, including those involved, not to respond to the press. But, apparently, there wasn't any investigation done, until the PRC woman appeared with confession. That was two weeks later. But before that, did Frieda Chan break rank and gave that interview to TNPon her own accord? She was and still is CEC member and should know very well of the gag order given. But she was smart, only talk about her university days and indirectly deny of any illicit affairs with YSL. But why would she do that while the whole CEC denied Angela the right to defend herself?
Once the PRC woman confession came, WP CEC took action, requesting YSL to attend a meeting to explain. Of course, now we know he just jump off te ship immediately. I would assume that the WP CEC didn't ask YSL to attend a meeting earlier when he was accused of having affair with Angela is because there might be denial made by Angela or himself. But it is still strange for applying such gag order on response without any clear direction of investigation even when the fire was burning so high on public opinion in internet as well as the MSM. It gave people an impression that there is something to hide... but if Angela is truly innocent, won't that a stupid thing to do? Did they know something more about the innocence of Angela?
I find that an intriguing mystery and lack of logic there. You only investigate when there is something you want to know and not clear... eg. is it true Angela is involved? But WP chose to investigate when the PRC woman has already confessed, nothing for you to investigate anymore... It doesn't sound logical to me at all.
