STOMPer Simon says he gave a box of Amway mooncakes to a client, only to have the client point out one mooncake was mouldy. He called up Amway, but was told it was 'common' to receive mouldy mooncakes.

Simon relates his frustration:

"Not long ago I received some mooncakes from Amway .

"I gave one box to my client. Upon opening the box of mooncakes , my client saw that one of them was mouldy and called me up immediately.

"I called up Amway to enquire about this and all they said was 'it's common that such things happen'.

"I didn't even receive an apology. I was very angry at that time as it was for my client."
 
I've never liked mooncake since I was a kid. What's so delicious about red bean paste baked in a crust? It's just fancy and overpriced tao sah pao. Mooncake with egg yolk more prestigious and expensive?! Yeah right, I discard egg yolk when I eat hard boiled egg. I don't even like tao sah pao. I prefer baa pao.
 
the moral of the story:

lesson 1: don't be suckers of the ponzy schemes, don't subscribe to those MLM or network or direct marketing scams.

lesson 2: have some sincerity & integrity to go pick out the confections yourself, when u intend to give them as gifts.

may be the reduce, reuse and recycle system at work here but judging from the cheapo packaging, this is definitely a wrong choice for a corporate gift and reflects badly on the organisation:eek:
 
They manufactured them last year in Hong Kong and had them deep freezed and store for sales this year.

After defrosting them a month ago it took sometime for stock to move down the level.

Nevermind the mould, just try them as extras mushrooms or "seaweed"

Maybe it's a new recipe - the more mouldy the better, just like the Taiwan's 臭豆腐。

Dude are U sure U've eaten Mooncakes before? Most mooncakes dun use Red Bean Paste.

Then what? I thought they all looked and tasted like bean paste, salted yolk and bird seed. Perhaps I was wrong, I stand to be corrected, in case my big fans Queen Seok Duk and Wikiphile jump up and down over it.

most mooncakes are made from Lotus Seed paste and it's not black and unless its some kinda special mooncake, they dun usual come in red bean paste(tao sah). The 2 doesnt even taste similar
