Dr Yaacob receives NUS award
By Chong Zi Liang

THE MINISTER for the Environment and Water Resources, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, received the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from the National University of Singapore's Engineering Faculty on Wednesday night.

This is the first time in seven years that the award is being given out, and previous recipients have included Spring Singapore chairman Philip Yeo and Temasek Holdings chief executive __ Ching.

Explaining the seven-year gap, the faculty's Associate Professor David Chua, said: 'Previously the award was not presented on a regular basis. But now we are trying to award it yearly as part of our outreach to alumni.'

Dr Yaacob graduated with honours in 1980 with a Bacherlor's degree in civil engineering. He then pursued a Masters of Science in civil engineering at NUS before doing his doctorate at Stanford University.

He also served a stint as both educator and researcher at the NUS department of industrial and systems engineering before joining politics in 1997.

The faculty's vice dean Victor Shim said that Dr Yaacob 'has been instrumental in Singapore's move to secure a reliable and resilient water supply through the development of the Four National Taps,' referring to water from local catchment areas, imported water, reclaimed water and desalianted water.

This is called PO LAN PAR award. It has no meaning to anyone and even the recipient of the "award" probably think it is unnecessary. But too bad, he knows he can't reject people who likes to po lan par him. It feels good!

If the 3 person up there can get an award, then I think the next one to get an award will be Wang Kan Seng.

Why I said that? Cause he is the one that still be able to stay on his Iron rice bowl job even though Mas Selamat ran away under his nose.

This NUS award is like giving out to those that never really helped Singapore or Singaporeans just to make them feel good. I think this award is quite meaningless.

Am I rite?

And I heard that this Dr Philip Yeo have some kind of mental problem or have super weird behaviour.

I heard this guy loves to swim naked in late nights. After that, he'll takes dozen of towels and lay them in the changing room. I dont know why he did that? Maybe after naked swimming, he needs to row around on the floor in the changing room.

Isnt all these SAF scholars are fucking sick in their brains? So this is the think tanks that our PAP government kept in their departments.

God saves Singapore!

While, at least this "doctor" has a piece more of toilet paper to use.

I think the ITE "university" should also confer him a award.
