Sorry to hear about that, there is normally a blue sign somewhere that they will show that you need coupon. If you got to MBJB to pay, its normally 50% off.

Is that MBJB in Skudai, as printed on the back of summon, the only place to pay your parking summon? Can pay at other places like post office?
And for the 50% discount if pay at MBJB, you need to ask for it or is it automatic?

how is the cost new vs import? Eg. buy a new toyota innova vs import 9 years old toyota picnic from Singapore. Advise & Thanks

A brand new car is cheaper. You need to pay tax either way. Why hugging an old banger? And all the hustle to export and import.

If your wife from China already has an existing driving license from China, she can just apply IDP at AA Singapore (btw applying IDP is less costly in SG than in MY) and drive in SG.

It is automatic provided its within the time frame.

You should be able to pay the fine online if you have the following bank accounts:
http://mbjb.gov.my/web/guest/e-bayar

MBJB office:
http://mbjb.gov.my/web/guest/hubungi_kami

These are some of what you can pay at POS:
http://www.pos.com.my/pos/personal/bill/payment/billing.aspx

For traffic police/JPJ fines - https://www.myeg.com.my/

I'm looking for a better car alarm. I was quoted two-way alarm costing $730 RM, inclusive of installing a boot release mechanism. Is this reasonable?

IDP cannot be issued to holders of foreign driving licences. They must apply for their IDPs in the country that issued their driving licence.

Also, from my knowledge, most countries will not allow drivers with only driving license from China to drive in their countries.

Who Should Apply
For peace of mind when driving overseas, we recommend that Singapore driving licence holders intending to drive in a foreign country to apply for an IDP. The IDP is valid for one year from the date of issue.

Requirements

Agree, i stand corrected.

The applicant must hold a valid Singapore driving licence
Permits cannot be issued to holders of foreign driving licences. They must apply for their IDPs in the country that issued their driving licence

Singaporean applicants must present BOTH a valid driving license and NRIC
Foreigner must also hold employment pass/FIN Card that is valid for 1 year from date of IDP application
Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents who have given up their citizenship or PR status respectively are not allowed to apply for the IDP

Interestingly IDP isn't recognized by China as well:
http://wikitravel.org/en/Driving_in_China

However, if one has a valid driving license from any of the 32 countries, then you are in luck.

One can chooses to convert to a Malaysian driving license if one is from the 32 countries listed below:
The countries are Australia, Iraq, Papua New Guniea, Belgium, Italy, France, Holland, Japan, Poland Brunei, German, Russia, China, Korea, Spain, Denmark, Laos, Singapore, Fiji, Libya, Switzerland, Philippines, Mauritius, Thailand, Finland, Egypt, Turky, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Taiwan, Iran and Nigeria. - Bernama

Malaysia is one of the countries that does recognize, Singapore is also one of them.

It even allows conversion to the SG license by taking the basic theory test.
When can foreign ATV licence-holders convert their licences to Class 3A licences?
One can convert his or her foreign ATV licence to a Class 3A licence from 1 Sept 04 onwards by passing the basic theory test and presenting the necessary documents to facilitate the conversion. No practical driving test is needed.

http://driving-in-singapore.spf.gov.sg/services/driving_in_singapore/services/3Afaq.html

Foreigners holding foreign driving licence and intend to remain in Singapore for less than twelve months are not required to convert their foreign driving licence to a Singapore driving licence. They may drive in Singapore with a valid foreign driving licence. However, if the licence is not in English, in addition to a valid foreign driving licence, they are required to have an International Driving Permit. If an International Driving Permit is not available, an official translation of the driving licence in English is required.

To convert to a Singapore driving licence, the foreigner is required to pass the Basic Theory Test (BTT) for familiarisation of traffic rules and Singapore's Highway Code pertaining to traffic related issues specific to Singapore. A Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) who wishes to drive in Singapore is required to convert his foreign driving licence after becoming a PR. .....

Hi all,

I know this question must have been answered before.

I am hoping to get a recommendation for a good reliable mechanic in the Bukit Indah area who will be able to replace my shock absorbers on my Toyota Corolla.

Any recommendation will be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
