Robber looking for potential victims at Banks is quite common in Malaysia. Some would be just inside the bank observing and following the victim all the way home.

Incident took place in SG, Bedok area. I heard from the grapevine.
Lady went to ATM to withdraw money. Put money in her handbag and placed on front passenger seat and drove home. Upon reaching home, she alighted to open the front gate. An ah neh ridder on a M'sia registered bike rode up and took her handbag from the front passenger seat.
The lady shouted, and put up a fight with the robber, but she was pushed to the ground.
A neighbor's maid took a bamboo stick to try to hit the robber, missed and kenna the robber's bike.
The robber rode off.
Police car came after, so don't think the lady suffered serious injury.
