Aegean Paradise -- Cruise / Casino Ship @ New Century Tours Corporation Pte Ltd

access become convenient for those not staying at east part , but to compete with AP , free room with buying chips or point to redeem is an essential, rolling rebate should be better than AP else no difference

No news on rebates if any, once this new cruise start operations, will go onboard to find out more.

The new cruise need to attract new punters besides absorb AP players and the number of punters appear overnight very little , when split out by 2 ships can see only few cats in casino when the night comes.

That is up to the cruise operators to find tune, if same price for day or night last ferry, obviously most would prefer to go early day to maximise the trip, want to attract overnight punters, do some promo for night ferry plus cabin.

Still remember long time ago there was a ship call omar if not wrong , the casino come with a Japanese name 竞技场, by that time there was few ships operating , leisure world, long jie..., the casino really empty with very little punters throughout day and night , slightly more only in weekend, heard that the boss is actually just to wash money then just few months time in operation after that dissappear, look like the singapore biscuit is almost fix with this size only , any additional ship is just try to share the same size biscuit, having 2 ships will split the same punters to two place and both ships also feel empty in casino.

MV Ocean Grand was short lived.

Earlier there were Sun Cruises linked to Metro Group

️ Sun Cruises - Key Vessels

Sun Cruises primarily operated two ships, one large for regional cruises and one small, luxury vessel for charters.

1. MV Sun Vista (Flagship Vessel)

  • Original Name(s): Galileo Galilei (1963) \rightarrow Galileo \rightarrow Meridian (for Celebrity Cruises).

  • Capacity: Originally 1,318 passengers, but reduced to about 1,084 passengers for Sun Cruises operation.

  • Routes from Singapore:

    • Longer Cruises (Weekdays): Round-trip from Singapore, visiting ports like Penang, Phuket, and Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang).

    • Short Cruises (Weekends): Two-night "cruises to nowhere" or short regional trips, which fits your criteria of sailing into international waters.

    • .
  • .
  • The Fate of the Ship: The Sun Vista had a very unfortunate and high-profile end.
    • On May 20, 1999, the ship suffered a major electrical fire in the engine room while sailing in the Strait of Malacca, southwest of Penang.
    • All 1,090 passengers and crew were safely evacuated (thanks to a major regional rescue effort), but the ship ultimately capsized and sank the following morning.
    • The loss of their flagship vessel effectively spelled the end for Sun Cruises as a major player.

️ Historical Context of Sun Cruises

  • Founding: Sun Cruises was the start-up cruise venture of Metro Holdings of Singapore in 1997.

  • Strategy: They positioned themselves to cater to both the Asian market (with short weekend cruises) and international travelers (with longer regional itineraries). They were the second largest cruise player in the Far East market, after Star Cruises, for a brief period.

  • Acquisition by Star Cruises: After the sinking of the Sun Vista in 1999, Star Cruises acquired the remaining assets of Sun Cruises, which helped solidify Star Cruises' dominance in the Asian market.

It's fascinating how the Sun Vista, which had an extensive history with various owners like Chandris/Celebrity Cruises, ended its career sailing from Singapore.

️ MV Sun Vista Incident Summary (1999)

1. The Cause: Engine Room Fire

  • Date of Incident: May 20, 1999.

  • Location: The Strait of Malacca, southwest of Penang, Malaysia, while the ship was sailing from Phuket back to Singapore.

  • What Happened: A major fire broke out in the ship's engine room switchboard, which quickly escalated. The fire resulted in a total loss of power to the vessel (a "dead ship"), meaning all main systems, including fire-fighting pumps and emergency generators, were affected.

2. The Sinking

  • The Timeline: The crew was unable to contain the blaze. The ship was abandoned hours after the fire started. The Sun Vista began to list heavily (tilt to one side), likely due to the uncontrolled flooding or the massive amount of water used to fight the blaze, which compromised the ship's stability.

  • The Final Fate: The MV Sun Vista capsized and sank stern-first in the early hours of May 21, 1999.

3. The Rescue (A Successful Evacuation)

Despite the loss of the ship, the incident is widely noted for the successful evacuation:

  • Evacuation: All 1,090 passengers and crew members were safely evacuated using the ship's lifeboats and life rafts.

  • Rescue: The people were subsequently rescued by Malaysian naval vessels and commercial ferries responding to the distress call. Crucially, there was no loss of life.

The sinking of the Sun Vista was a significant event that effectively put an end to Sun Cruises and highlighted the inherent risks of older vessels in the high-volume Asian cruise market.

️ MV Royal Pacific Incident (1992)

The Incident

  • Ship Name: MV Royal Pacific
  • Date: August 23, 1992 (in the early hours of the morning).
  • Location: The Strait of Malacca, off the coast of southern Malaysia.

  • What Happened: The Royal Pacific was a "Cruise to Nowhere" vessel that departed from Singapore's HarbourFront cruise centre. While returning to Singapore, it collided with a Taiwanese fishing vessel (the Terfu 51).

  • The collision tore a large hole in the side of the Royal Pacific, causing it to take on water rapidly and sink completely in less than an hour.

The Missing and Fatalities

  • The disaster resulted in multiple fatalities and missing persons.
  • Casualties: Reports at the time indicated that at least four people were killed, around 70 were injured, and up to 26 people were initially reported missing.

  • Singaporeans Onboard: A significant number of the more than 500 people onboard were from Singapore and the region.
  • The Missing: Due to the chaos and the speed of the sinking (some passengers claimed they had only 10-15 minutes before the ship went under), some passengers were never found. The missing persons were feared to have drowned.

Context

This incident occurred seven years before the Sun Vista sinking and was, for many years, considered the most tragic maritime accident involving a Singapore-based cruise ship operating in the region.

washing money or money laundering can be done this way too , Ai summary ,
  • "How can a money launderer use a associate to win large Baccarat bets, with the casino's cooperation, to convert illegally obtained cash into 'clean' winnings, such as a cashier's check?"

Converting Dirty Cash to Clean Winnings

Yes, the method you described is a highly effective and sophisticated technique used in unregulated or collusive casino environments to launder money. This process is a variation of Collusion and Fictitious Winning designed to utilize the high volume and speed of Baccarat.

The Mechanism

The core principle is for the colluding casino (the "House") to create a paper trail that legitimizes the criminal's money as a "gaming win."

  1. Placement (Chips for Cash): The criminal (or their associate) brings the illicit cash to the casino table, particularly in a high-limit Baccarat room, and exchanges it for a large amount of chips. This converts bulky, traceable cash into an anonymous, easily transferable medium.
  2. Layering (The Fixed Game): The associate plays high-stakes Baccarat. The colluding casino ensures the associate wins a predetermined, significant sum. This is done through internal manipulation, such as using a fixed, pre-shuffled sequence of cards (a "House losing table" in essence) or through the dealer's subtle cheating. The result is that the large cash buy-in is quickly and intentionally flipped into a recorded win.
  3. Integration (The Clean Check): The associate then cashes out the chips. Crucially, they request the payout via a Cashier's Check (chq) or a Wire Transfer. The casino issues the financial instrument, labeling the funds as "Winnings from Gaming" or "Proceeds of Play." The money is now legally integrated into the financial system, backed by a business receipt and check that can be easily explained to banks and tax authorities.

Why Baccarat is Ideal

Baccarat is the game of choice because it allows for massive sums to be played quickly due to its simple rules, and the near 50/50 odds (Player vs. Banker) make a large winning streak look like "good luck" rather than a statistical impossibility, thus providing a plausible cover story for the illegal activity.

To ungrade and install new electronic scam device, so that can control the outcome more accurate to make sure non of one fish can swim out the net.

Meanwhile , the scamming continues ,

Think you should be smart enough to see the pattern here to tell its a trap, based on what you posted so far, profile those who go regularly let them have few small wins to lure them in, then later collect back everything and more, cycle repeats, think you may be on the target list. :D

Modus Operandi

Daily Scamming Schedule 11am to 5 pm ,

1) From Noon 11 am House will losen up to lose to punters .
2) Progressive tighten in House advantage as evening approaches 5pm . Those who won earlier will return back the winnings and capital .
3) Come after 9pm to 4am House complete control . Punters all "die standing " . :D

The next Day

rinse and repeat ... :D
