Heard from someone who has a relative in Tan Tock Seng & they tell me that patient are not being looked after properly by the FT staff & there might even be some abuse involved:mad:

The staff has not been doing regular cleaning & changing of the patient. My friend found dried faeces on the patient. My friend also noticed that the patient is fearful of the staff. That & feedback from the other patients leads her to believe that abuse has taken place. My friend has brought it up with the head nurse but so far there hasn't been any improvement:(

This is very upsetting because she is already worried about her sick relative & now she has to contend with incompetent staff.

This is just the surface. Systemic attempts to ensure that Singaporeans die early to save the LKY regime expenses has been going on for years and getting more extreme. Just watch. You like to see LKY and his family murder you, be my guest. It does not matter if you are pro pap or otherwise. There is only the Lee family and only them in the equation.

I won't discount the possibility if old patients are being left alone with no visitors. If the children kept visiting the patient daily, I believe the foreign staff won't dare to be so cocky. So far my experience with TTSH service is quite positive. My dad used to stay in C class for 10 days and also had regular appointments in TTSH for the past two years, the staff were all very helpful. In fact, I find the old nurse (local one) tend to be more unfriendly than foreign nurse.

There will always be some lapses and some patients will suffer. But this does not mean that the hospital is bad and that there is a conspiracy to " wipe off " Singaporeans. This is silly accusation which should not be allowed to go unchallenged. Tracy's article on the great work done at TTSH/NNI is one good example of excellent world class service of our hospital.

If you have a case, you can always write to the Minister or even the Prime Minister. But dont go around spreading rumours and slandering the good work of the doctors and nurses. Thank you.

I have encountered very good foreign nurses and I have also encountered very bad local nurses. But there are also very good ones too.So we cannot just generalise and say bad things about the staff, especially the foreign staff. Dont be a one-eyed dragon.

I am actually surprised at what is going on at TTH. I wonder if the same problems exist in other hospitals:confused:

My friend visits daily & spends the maximum time allowed by the limitations of the visiting hours. The problem is that the patient has stroke & cannot speak at all. According to my friend her she can see fear in her mom's eyes.
My friend has noticed that it is not the 1st time they have neglected her mother. She is worried at about what can go on at night. As long as her mom is under their care, they can take revenge on her mother. They have already spilt a meal on her mom on two different occasions.

Such problems don't happen overnight. It develops through the years by neglect of the hospital management. We see it happening in the breakdown of our train services. This is a worrying development, now Sporeans will need to ask around to see which hospitals have more local staff before they check in:eek:.

This is not rumor & not slander, my friend would not lie about something like this

When I was at TTH I notice signs posted around the hospital claiming their staff are doing their best & the hospital security will act if people make trouble. They obviously have had such incidents in the past. You will of course not hear about such cases in the local press:rolleyes:

I will tell my friend to get one of cameras that was used to nail those abusive filipino health care workers

Do that please. Because we know. We also know the cover up as well as people too foolish and want to talk about generalization. If you think the old folks home abuse was an exception, think again. It will be increasing with time and intensity. There are a few reasons for the increase and intensity. The people who run the health institutions know. Of course if you money too much, then no problem in general.

I haven't read about Nightingale being sued by the victims family. Why isn't the victim's family doing that:confused: Nightingale was found GUILTY, so a civil case shouldn't be a problem.

In the past I thought health care in Spore was expensive but ok when compared to our neighbours. However after hearing about the problems at TTS , I'm now worried about any future in Spore.
Even if you have enough $$$ in your medisave account and are covered by medical insurance, we are ALL potentially vulnerable to being abused by low paid FT:eek:

It is only the wealthy is able to sue you, sue me, sue anybody; the family members combined don't even make a million dollars a year!. If they do, bet ya!, we were get to hear a court summon for Nightingale!

Why is it that nowadays everything is getting so bad that we have to get an MP to fix the problem:confused:

Whatever happened to the management of these instituitions? Aren't they suppose to be there to monitor & ensure the quality of service? It's beginning to look like Spore is one big bureaucracy where all problems & solutions is at the hands of an MP. Public Transport problem, get an MP to fix. Charity problem with golden taps, get the gov't to fix. Rogue bicycle purchases, get the gov't to fix. Flood problems, get the gov't to fix,.......

Agrees....especially those who are bedridden may be left alone without much attention. My Late Mother-in-Law who was there for more than 2 week was well taken care of by Doctors and nurses.

transfer her to another govt hospital loh.

She is being transfered to Ren Ci. Still can't walk & needs physio, but ASAP it's my friend's intention to get her out of the rotten hospital system & back home.

The irony is that her mother is a fervent LKY fan

one solution: just go to hospital in Thailand.. cheaper and service so much better..

wat to xpect ? go stay mount e...

Even if finances is not a problem, I wonder if Mount E is any better

I suspect it's a systemic problem with the hospital system & not just an isolated problem. Probably caused by numerous factors like
poor selection process, low wages, under staffing, PAP's belittling of Sporeans, cultural differences,....

We have all read about the problem with some maids with poor attitudes. Why should it be any different with foreign nurses:confused:

Glad that your mother-in-law didn't face such problems. This is the way it should be.

However with stroke patients they can't speak & are very dependant on the nursing staff. The nurses know this & in this case the nurses can ignore their duties & the victims can't complain.
My friends mom had bed sores even though she was only in there for under 2 weeks. The nurses didn't clean her on a regular basis & the faeces caused irritation & sores. Just imagine having to sleep on your own shit.
